"I have heel spurs and am have purchased four pairs of shoes this year. This one is great for walking and is very firm and supportive. I didn't even have a break in period. I just wish they made steel toe boots for my construction job. First time I ever purchased anything made in Germany."

PERFEKT GREAT SHOE,

"these are very comfortable shoes. they do run a half size large but they run wide also so i usually take 11E but i ordered the 10 1/2 regular and the width is perfect plenty of room with no pinching at the toes. if you run narrow you should get a whole size smaller for the width to be good. the soles are aggressive which is good for snow and trails and the gortex lining is a main feature for these shoes. one of the reviews stated they were not made in germany. the inside tongue reads made in slovenia which is a stones throw away from germany. im sure they speak german and its probably a region of cheaper labor for meindl, although the price is steep, but the quality is very good. i just ordered an extra set of insoles for $ 20.00 so if the originals wear out i have a new set just like new."

"I usually struggle to find shoes that fit my "wide" foot comfortably. These shoes were comfortable the first day that I wore them which included a whole day of mall shopping with my lovely wife. They have plenty of room in the EE size I purchased and don't tire my feet as the day goes on. I'm looking forward to many years of use from my Perfekt Walking Shoes!"

"Usually take a size 13-14 - ultimately I bought a size 12 because shoe is very full cut. I have arthritic problems with my feet and need to be very selective in the footwear I buy. I find the "Perfekt" walking shoe to be a great supportive shoe, extremely comfortable, footbed had good shock absorbtion, and better looking than most walking shoes on the market. Overall, I would highly recommend the "Perfekt" by Mendl."

"Used the shoes on a recent hiking trip hiked about 20 miles over the weekend never had any problems with the shoe. The only thing i would suggest is that you buy size smaller than you normaly would wear shoes are sized big."

"I am very pleased with the Cabela's "Perfekt" Walking Shoe by Meindl. I had previously ordered a pair of "Perfekt" Hikers by Meindl several years ago from Cablea's for my deployments to Iraq and Afganistan. The Meindl hiking boots were very comfortable and stood up to the punishment delt by uneven pavement, sand and in the mountains. I hoped one day Meindl would make walking shoe. I was very pleased when I recently saw a Cabela's catalog with a Meindl "Perfekt" Walking Shoe. I bought them immediately and have enjoyed the comfortable footbed which provides all day comfort. Thanks you for a terrific shoe."

"I've owned these a couple of months and no complaints so far. They call these a "walking shoe" but don't expect a tennis shoe because they are more like a low boot made for trekking. They have agressive tread and sturdy leather construction like a hiking boot. I have read a couple of reviews that complained about the fit but I haven't experienced anything but a great fit, and am especially impressed with the toe room since that is what usually gives me trouble. I had to buy a size smaller than normal - usually wear 12 but 11 is perfect in this shoe. I have worn these to the office, in airports, colorado snow, camping in the foothills, and through a muddy Illinois job site. They are pricey but definately have become my favorite every day shoe."
