"Keeping in mind that I've been using a knife for years trying to achieve standardized thin cuts, this slicer works well. The food tends to get caught up on the housing on the back side of the blade (not a huge deal) and the food deck and plastic grip plate sometimes stick, but for the money, this is a lot better than the way I used to slice. Clean up is just as easy (or difficult) as most commercial slicers I've used in the past. The unit does come apart really easily so you can clean it thoroughly."

"After reading these reviews I was concerned about two shortcomings - the cleanup, and the ability of the machine to cut consistently. I wanted to slice a whole sirloin for sandwiches on the 4th of July. Based on the reviews I decided to cut the basketball sized sirloin in two, cook it and then refrigerate over night. After having done this the slicer worked without a hitch. 15 minutes later and I had consistently thin sliced meat. The next hurdle was the cleanup. Ten minutes later it was clean and back in the box waiting for the next time. DO IT.. if you think a slicer would solve some of your problems this one is a great choice…"

Hard to clean up,June 17, 2009

"I finally got around to using this slicer and found the blade speed slow and dull. The plastic piece that holds the meat in place should have something so it doesn't stick to the metal bed it rests on. There is no way to place a pan under it to catch the slices. The only way I could keep it cutting uniform slices was with frozen meat.
The worst feature was cleanup after I used it. There are too many nooks and cranys for residue to accumulate without major effort.
I will be returning it for another model."

"I was impressed with the slicer and scale both. I used them to make jerky and cutting the roasts went smooth and even. The cleanup afterwords was simple and everything came apart nicely. The scale was nice to weigh everything evenly, and to match the cure with. Thanks for the good product even though it took awhile on backorder but the price was right!"

"I just received this slicer and the adjustment knob didn't work. Kept hanging up and the back portion that the knob was suppose to keep in one place kept sliding in and out, would not stay in place to be able to cut the thickness I wanted. Sent it back...don't know what I will try next but very disappointed to say the least. I'll let you know what I decide on next... LOL"

"I purchased this product, for the sole purpose to slice all types of meat for jerky. This slicer works very well, and is well made. Another plus is that it is also very easy to clean.
