"The software does what is says, but seems a little slow. I use it for scoping out new lakes, and viewing waypoints I had saved from my lowrance units. Good but not great."

"OK product but not that great for my home lake because of lack of detail. Would probably be better if my lake was a Hi-Def Lake."

Navionics HotMaps Explorer DVD,April 20, 2009
By FishNLawfrom Orlando, Florida
"I purchased this product from Cabella's, due to no one in my area carrying it. My experience with the order process was fantastic. After ordering online, the product was at my house within 3 days.
Now for the product. After following the simple installation instructions, I began to play around with the program. I was amazed at the number of lakes on the DVD. I searched for lakes all around the U.S. and each one of them was one it. The contour graphing and local information contained on each lake was amazing. I began a log of all of the lakes, with the printed out maps, that I have been on and the one's that I want to get on.
I played around with the program four hours. There are still many facits of the program that I still have not discovered. It is very easy to use, however, it took some playing around with.
I have recommended this program to my closest fishing buddies. I am, however, hoping that not everyone purchases this program because it is a definite advantage for anyone that enjoys fishing."

Navionics DVD,April 20, 2009
By Drhammfrom MN
"First off, I was disappointed that it was on a DVD - my main computer doesn't read dvd's - but that was my mistake, I didn't catch that in the discription. 2nd issue, it takes 10 gigs. 3rd and most important issue, it is not accurate. When I draw a route, it always ends up being southeast of my intended route. Every time I put the drawn route on a satelite picture or another map program, it would be off to the southeast. I guess you get what you pay for."

Hotmaps Explorer,April 7, 2009
By BassinKCfrom Kansas City, Mo
"Overall I like the product. I have purchased some additional HD maps and they are very good. The one thing I have not been able to find is a legend to define the symbols on the maps. The maps do show sites where different species can be found and you are able to zoom in to look at the details that are not available on the paper maps. I have not used the ability to transfer information to and from my locater but intend to in the future."

Good preview of Navionics Maps,February 24, 2009
By MapAficionadofrom Layton, UT
"I live in Utah and bought the explorer maps primarily for the 20 Utah displayed. I found problems with three of the 20 Utah maps. The Bear Lake map shows the maximum depth as 50 feet when in fact the lake reaches a depth of 212 feet. The map of Pineview Reservoir shows only one depth contour line at 9 feet and this reservoir is 81 feet deep. The east side of Deer Creek reservoir has contour lines displayed correctly but the western half is shown only as blue water without any contour lines. This is an error rate of 15% for the Utah maps and the Utah map problems are duplicated in other Navionics Map products.
This product is an inexpensive way to preview how Navionics will display your favorite lakes."

Good Value,February 23, 2009
By CEC2009from Oklahoma
"The maps on this CD are not the same quality as the Fishing Hotspots maps but they do give a lot of good information about the lakes. I would recommend them a good source of information to help with making some early planning decisions about a lake then switch to a more detailed Hotspots map if I was going to spend much time fishing the lake. It's a good value for the money."
