"Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2009 is a pretty fun game. It has good graphics, nice scenery, and quite a few animals to hunt. The game takes a few hours to play on the easy setting, and has a map that helps you find the animals. A few annoying things are that you have to shoot each dangerous animal six times, and you have to open the PDA to see the map. But overall, this is a good game."

"This game has a good graphics but the hunting is very easy. The animals ...maybe don't see and smell the hunter! This game is only for THE NOVICE! I have a big difficult to climb mountains...the big tree on the rock and cross logs. I would like to hunt and I try 100 times and more for jumping on the tree before I get across! It's impossible for me to continue and I leave to hunte definitively this game at the map of New Zeland. I remember the old version of Cabela's Big Game Hunter..2004, 2005 wow was a very very good game! Realistic! This version 2009 is the game for the children 7-10 years old. Cabela's please I wait a new BIG GOOD VERSION of GAME with an excellent graphics and very relaistics hunting actions."

"I hunt and in the off-season I play many first party shooters. This isn't a hunting game - it's a carnival "shoot the star with a bb gun game".
Animals do not react to hunters and activity like animals.
The "maps" are small.
You can shoot a moose in the foot and kill it, but must shoot a "dangerous trophy", a cougar for example, a half dozen times in the face while he mauls you, before he drops.
Once you figure out where to stand or go on a map you can run (literally) through maps in minutes. I hunted every animal on every map in just a few hours. That's not worth the money.
I've purchased this brand before, and was disappointed then too. This mistake will be my last."

"I was dissapointed with this game. Mostly because we had the 2004 version and played it often. When we purchased a new computer it would not work, so we searched around and bought this game. It had the same name but it is completely different. We miss the lodge and choices from the older version. It is hard to navigate and nothing like the one we had before."

"This game does provide some entertainment as do all cabelas games. But i wish they would use their resources and their money to create a great hunting game. This game and others are kinda just thrown together and are suitable more or less for the younger crowd. I've always owned a cabelas game and i guess what i'm saying is i wish they would develope a game that longevity of play is longer and enjoyable. The technology is there why not use it."

"Ridiculous how unrealistic most of the predators behave and how hard it is to kill them. When you hit an predator (or anny other animal) right between the eyes you should think it would die by 1 bullet, 3-6 bullets in the head!"

"Lots of animals with lots of shooting. This game is not a serious hunting game but more on the fast paced style. My only complaint is there nothing in the directions for how to use the calls you earn. They are needed in some of the scenes and makes progress a bit tuff. Went to activisions website and found no help there."

"This is the worst Cabela's game I have played, I own Big Game Hunter Alaskan Adventure, and Big Game Hunter 2004 Season and they all run really great. If I could return this game I would I am not impressed with it, they also have a limited selection of weapons to use with this one and no target range option to get used to the weapon of choice.
My mother in law purchased this title for me a week ago. It took 40 min to install on my system which is XP Duo Core. When I went to play it finally the game ran really slow and choppy even after I changed the options down to min or none. So I put it on my Wife's system which is Vista with duo core it took 40 min to install also, but it ran a little faster and better than on mine."

"This game has lots of guns, even a crossbow. The scenery is great and the movement of the animals is pretty realistic. Once in a while there is a glitch but after many hours of play we hardlly run into that at all. Other than that, this game is perfect. The sounds are good. Hunting the predatory animals really gets your heart rate up. Everyone in the family gathers to watch when someone is on a hunt--it's more fun than a movie."
