Koplin Hand guards with mirrors,

"I ordered these hand guards for my 650 brute force, especially for the mirrors. I tried to put them on and they do not fit on a Kawasaki. I am not sure about other models of 4-wheelers, but I would like to see them put a list on the package or on the Cabelas web site on which models they do fit. That way you could save time and money before you order instead of finding out later whether they fit or not."

"Decent handguards, but the mounts don't fit a Polaris Sportsman. Alot of modifing to get them to work. Now that they are on they will work fine. I would not recommend these because the average person could not install them."

Poor Handguard Design,

"The Kolpin hand guards were poorly designed for clamping in place and staying put. Constantly bouncing around out of position. Scratched up my handlebar paint. Can't tighten them to hold without swiveling since they clamp to plastic which continues to give. Don't recommend the product."

"I found the hand gurads were great. The protected my hands from branches and flying rock from the rider ahead of me, also protected from rain and sleet on one point in time. The only complaint I have is that the area where the guard meets the mounting equipment was a bit weak, had one break when i hit a post on the side of the trail that was hid in the bushes, but I will order another set."

"This is a very poorly engineered product. Installation is very cumbersome with lots of "jimmyrigging" to get it to work. Bare metal mounting post scratches and gouges the paint surface of the bars. Flimsy ill-fitting parts need to be bent to fit the other necessary parts. Any adjustments to align in desired position are impossible. Parts break easily. I wished I would have paid attention to the poor reviews on this website, but instead I now have a damaged ATV and hand guards that I can't even use, not to mention the time and frustration. I tried to contact the manufacturer's customer service department and heard nothing back. I wrote to them and heard nothing as well.
However, I am thankful for Cabelas having a 100% satisfaction guarantee, or I would really be out of luck. That is why I remain a loyal customer. I am returning these for the other brand with the good reviews."

Kolpin ATV hand guards installation and use,

"I initially had difficulty installing the handguards on my ATV however once I removed the plastic coating from the clamp it fit properly on my handle bar and installation went smoothly from that point. My model came with the electronic clock, temperature and compass. On a trip to the mountains the hand guards worked very well in protecting my hands however I did have some issues with the electronics. The problem was "touching the wrong buttons" which became a bit frustrating until I caught on. Overall a great product and worth having on my ATV"

"Kolpin told me these were tested on Polaris SP800, they do fit ok but........ The spacers to adjust the guards to the left or right one was cut too long one needed reamed for the bolt to fit through.
The U-straps to mount to handle bar were pinched closed way too tight, had to spring open to place on the bar.
The Time feature is in military time, 1300, 1400, 2400 hours not 1pm, 2pm, 12 pm, etc.
Too many little quality things of the craftsmanship lacking. But they do look nice and serve the purpose of protecting my hands and pimping out the bike. bob....."

"Very unhappy with this product. Handguards were made out of cheap plastic, the left one broke while putting it on the ATV. The right one would not fit on the 2006 Yamaha 450 because the brake fluid line was in the way."

"The hand guards were very easy to install and were true to form on the guarentee to "fit most ATV's". They are made of a high quality plastic that have withstood the contact with branches and stationary objects. I was surprised by their durability at such a good price to the consumer. I also like the ability to tilt the guard freely for mirror adjustments according to the trails being driven."
