To those who appreciate tradition, they are functional works of art.

We love this sled, December 30, 2008
By tward21 from North east Kansas

"I was excited when I found this german sled in the Cabela's Christmas book, because I grew up in Germany with this kind of sleds. They last a life time, are comfortable, you don't sit half way in the snow, when you use it, like with other sleds. Two people can fit on it easily, even gronw ups.
All we need now is more snow ....

    awesome!, November 24, 2008
    By norseguy from Indianapolis, IN

"The *perfect* revenge for anyone who is dismayed by the ridiculous cheapo plastic sleds everyone seems to sell nowadays.

I got the "abyss" model - simple & elegant design, beautifully crafted out of real ash wood. Germany and Austria actually have sled runs in the mountains where *adults* ride sleds like these. Who says kids should have all the fun?

Expensive? Maybe, but lots of other "real" sporting equipment (bicycles, skiis, etc.) costs even more. Why shouldn't a "real" sled cost this much? I'll bet the "big brothers" to these sleds (luge and skeleton) cost even more.

    Awesome.
