"I use the slicer with my 1 1/2 H Cabelas grinder. It fits and functions as expected. It is the second I have purchased. MAKE SURE THAT ALL ITEMS NOT INTENDED TO BE SLICED REMAIN FAR FROM THE BLADES!!! The nifty little tongs provided made it all the way through the slicer before I could hit the on/off switch. The damage to the blades resulted in me purchasing the second slicer. Partially frozen meat works the best. I imagine sending meat containing shot or jacket fragments could cause some damage to the blades as well."

Meat Tenderizer Attachment,

"Today was the first time it got to use the tenderizer. When I got it I was a little disappointed that the the whole thing was not made of metal. You have to be very careful attaching the top and don't strip the screw in the plastic housing. The combs are a little hard to slide in and you have to have them or the meat will wind around the blades. But did work real well and we were pleased with the texture of the meat. We will see how well it stands up."

Better Than Expected,

"I was somewhat concerned initially that the size and weight of the patty would be smaller than what we normally use on a burger. This almost caused me not to make the purchase.
But our patty weight was closer to 1/2 pound instead of the 1/3 pound indicated, and the diameter was 4.25 inches.
Remember if you are making hamburger patties from venison or a combination of venison and beef, they do not shrink when they are cooked, like regular hamburger, due to the lower fat content.
Instead of buying the precut wax paper sheets to separate the patties, we paid our grandson a couple of dollars to cut larger wax paper sheets purchased from other sources into forths. These sheets are what we normally use in our microwave to cover items when cooking or, reheating.
We placed the patties on a cookie sheet then chill until firm in the freezer before vacume packaging. This keeps the patty firm and any blood from being sucked out when packaged."

"I purchased the 1/2 HP meat grinder three years ago. It has helped process burger, sausage meat, and jerky with no problems. I love the fact that I can use it to stuff snack sticks and summer sausage (easy to do with two people). Easy clean-up and packs great back in the box for storage and travel to the next job. My grinder has helped process 40 plus whitetail deer without a problem (saved alot of money this way). Buy one I'm sure your family and huntin buddies will keep in contact during huntin season when the they need some meat ground!!!"

Mixer attachment for 1Hp grinder,

"This is a labor saving device and make no mistake about it. I have used my hands, dough mixers, and hand driven mixers over the last 45 years or so. I keep asking myself: Self, why the heck did you wait so long to get one of these?
The only thing so far that was a problem is the inner O-ring on the gear drive. It was either damaged when put together or failed on my first batch (45 pounds total of 2 kinds of sausage). It seems to have come apart or slipped. CS is sending a replacement.
For those that claim it will not mix: Small batches will require you to reverse a few times to "grab" the meat from the sides. Then use forward again. ALSO: You must add liquid whether the instructions tell you to or not. You just can not mix or stuff without adding liquid. Even if the instructions say to add liquid, it is usually NOT enough.
I mix the seasoning into the liquid and get better distribution and no clumping or high concentrations of seasoning in some areas and little in others. I prefer beer, but water works fine also."
