"After installing the product with no issues, I would recommend not putting too much emphasis on the negative reviews. The instructions are not extensive, but assembly and installation is fairly intuitive considering the purpose and reasons for buying the mount in the first place. It works well with my TomTom GPS, and allows enough range of adjustment to compliment the sturdy retention of the GPS. Don't let the negative reviews scare you away from this product."

"Mixed feelings about this. The idea is good and the design is clever. But: I tried it on a Toyota Tacoma and a Camry. On the Tacoma, it works quite well on the vent just inside the door at the left. On the other hand, that isn't my preferred position. Mounted on the vent to the right of the steering wheel, it is too close to the wiper/washer control lever. It didn't fit either vent on the Camry. I switched to the high-friction bag for the Camry, and will cobble up something for the Tacoma, probably involving Velcro tape, shoestrings, and part of this item. It seems to me that this item would work very well in some vehicles, not in others. If you try one, be careful with it when you try it out so that you can return it if it doesn't fit well. I lost a small piece almost immediately - probably down inside one of the air passages."

"Two problems: (1) the mount can come apart and the springs and other pieces fall into the vent, particularly if you are trying to remove it. I am on my second one and am finally getting the hang of it. Do not plan on regularly moving the bracket between cars. Get it in place and leave it there. You can easily remove the GPS and leave the bracket. (2). If your car has vertical vents, it doesn't work. My wife has a Lexus Hybrid and it doesn't work on those vents."
