Blackhills .30-06,
October 27, 2009
By Reelthing

"Ordered in 10 boxes of the 168gr - these rounds compare very well to the win gold match ammo. After 3 boxes no flyers have happend that wasn't my fault - yes, after 4 decades of bench shooting I still botch one now and then but generally know when this happens. the blackhills rounds will create groups under an inch @ 200 yards out of a heavy barrel savage -a 1.5-2.0" groups at 300yds - still working on that I need a solid 1.5" at 300yds before I move to the 400yd and 500yd - soon, soon."

Great match grade ammo; for hunting.,
October 26, 2009
By SHIVAN
from Virginia
|
"This ammunition, like most all of Black Hills' lines, is superb. The Barnes bullets perform as expected on antelope, and I presume they would do well on other game animals too. The very nice thing about this Blacks Hills Gold ammo is that it is also grouping with factory match consistency when I do my part behind the trigger.
I will continue to buy an use this Black Hills Gold Match .308 Win ammo for any rifle that shoots it well."

"I bought 2 boxes of the Black Hills Gold for my .308 one was the A-max 168 and the other the TSX 168. What great shooting ammo. I was able to shoot 3/4" 3 shot groups at 100 yrds it didn't matter which bullet I shot they printed in the same spot each time. I am getting ready to order some more to have on hand for the future."

Black Hills Gold,
August 18, 2009
By MetroJersey
from NJ
|
"I tried other ammo and though they all grouped fairly well at 100 yards, they did not do so at 200 and 300. Black Hills Gold 180 gr. Accubond in my .300WSM was the only one to hold MOA and better at all ranges and a plus is that it is quite a bit less costly so what's not to like. I can't say how they will shoot in your rifle, but try a box and see."

Great Load,
February 3, 2009
By wtslayer12
from Weatherford, OK
|
"I have a browning a-bolt .270 that is fairly old and is pretty picky on bullets. My groups at 100 yards with the hornady custom btsp is usually about 3/4 in. with 5 shots. not only did the barnes shrink the group to about 1/2 in. with most shots touching, but my .270 now does things down range that a .270 is not supposed to do. Energy retention and bullet stability are awesome and the black hills load makes for about perfect velocity for the rifling in my barrel."

"i have to admit black hills ammo beats em all hands down the price and performance is hard to beat! i use these in my m1a1 168gr. match grade and i'm getting .75 grouping at 200yards not bad by any means! so if you want to save some dough and get the performance of the $50 a box ammo go with black hills you won't regret it"

.270 WSM,
December 13, 2008
By sar94
|
"I tested this ammo thru a Remington 700 & a Sako 85 both bedded and floated. At 100 yards the best grouping I could achieve was 3 inches. Compared to the 1/4 MOA that I get with Black Hills Nosler Accubond this copper ammo is very dissappointing! However I tested the same ammo in .260 cal thru a my custom heavy varmint rifle and it shot -1/4 MOA at 100 yards. Go figure!"

very poor grouping 308 match,
October 25, 2008
By upsetshooter
from Poland, Maine
|
"I purchased the black hills gold 308 match looks good but shoots poor. I have a rem 700 vtr and it shoots well except with this ammo. 5 shoot groups 2 might be in a 1/2 inch group and 3 might be 2-3 inches high to the left or right or low with no wind to worry about. The fed match ammo shoots 1/2 groups with no problems. After 40 rounds of this black gold I am not impressed at all, did I get two bad boxes? I had 5 rounds of old win round nose 180 grain with me and they shot 1 inch groups at 100 yards. blacks hills your not high on my list any more."

"This round is the best that I have found so far for my BAR in 270 WSM, out of 6 different types. While the group isn't the best, about 2 1/2" at 100 yds, it will do until I can develop a round myself."

Triple Shock non toxic bullets,
September 23, 2008
By Ddorf
from San Luis Obispo, California
|
"I hunt in an area that ,as of this year, requires non - toxic bullets in the taking of all game animals. I was skeptical of the effectiveness of these all copper bullets. I had heard they wouldn't have the stopping power of conventional lead bullets and of course the price is outrageous. After dropping my first deer of this season I've found them incredibly accurate and as long as you are on target they pass the test. My first shot was dead on at 409 yards with my 7 mag. These bullets are just as good or better than more expensive brands."

"These are by far the most accurate bullets I have ever used in my Remington XCR, All shots touch at 100 yards. !.5 MOA was the best I had ever gotten from this rifle with any other factory loads. Although very expensive I will buy them again for all my hunting needs from antelope to elk. Original purchase is for a colorado goat hunt that took me 16 years to draw I will trust them without question."

By cory5

"Recently purchased the black hills gold ammo for my rem 270. I was having issues with other brands and have not had this issue with the black hills gold ammo. I'm using the Barnes tsx in 130gr. and my rifle loves it. It shots .6" groups consistently with this ammo. I know that is not always the case with different rifles but I highly recommend there ammo I feel it is superior to other brands on the market. Happy shooting"
