They replace the bolt during cleaning to prevent solvent from leaking into trigger assembly and action, and they align the cleaning rod with the bore to eliminate erosion of throat, chamber and rifling. Both are constructed of durable anodized aluminum. The collar and lock pin adjust to fit actions of all lengths, and three interchangeable chamber tips accommodate all bore sizes from .17 to .416 caliber.

"Well made and does what it is supposed to do. It was a bit long for my target/varmint rifle which has an extra long barrel. Cleaning rod would not exit so I hacksawed about 2 inches off he guide, now it works perfectly in all my center fire rifles. Too big to go into the action of .22 rim fire rifles so don't buy it for them.... weezil"
