"Lots of space to do good sized batches. I've dried onions, peppers, potatoes, zucchini so far. You do have to rotate the top trays to the bottom half way through since the top trays don't get as much heat/air as the bottom trays. Easy to clean up."

"This is a great dehydrator. I love that there is a ton of room so that you can get a lot of produce done with one batch. The only criticism that I have is that it is kind of noisy. This isn't a deterrent for me, but it may be for someone else. Love it."

"The Cabelas Dehydrator was every thing you said it was and more. I did garden beans , garlic so far. It is large enought for any house hold use. I have showen it to two friends so far they might be ordering one. I am going to do apples this weekend.

"Provides great heat. I did have to make screens for it because the openings on the trays were too big for small beans and herbs but not a big deal. What would be marvelous is if you also had trays that are two or three times in height so that large things like peppers or "bushy" herbs could be dried. Right now I am removing trays to allow for space and then covering the front to keep the heat in side. So far so good though. I'm overall pleased with this product."

"... and let me tell you, I'm really bummed about it. I spent $15 dollars on fruit, dried it (in record time, I do have to say), and while it seemed to dry evenly, almost from the outset I started smelling plastic from the heated trays. I mentioned it to my wife, and though she smelled it too, she suggested that it might be because it was new. The next morning, upon opening the bedroom door, our house smelled as though we had opened a dozen new shower curtains. This is *barely* an exaggeration. Tried the fruit- it tasted the way the air smelled. We left for two days for the 4th of July weekend. Upon returning- the smell is still in the air (as of this writing), and the fruit... tastes the same. Before owning this dehyradtor, I had the Excalibur 4 tray. After looking up the specs, I found that their trays are made of polycarbonate. It was a fantastic product. I upgraded only because we were looking for something larger, and because the price of this unit was very reasonable. I have to say, though... it's going back. Both my wife and I still have the aftertaste of plastic; that's from 30 minutes ago. Be careful about this purchase."

"I am not sure about this yet. I turned it on the first time and the fan didn't run. the fan blades appear to be plastic and they melted. I'm not sure where the heavy duty part comes in with a plastic fan next to the heating element. I'm being sent another unit- It's Back ordered for 2 weeks, Glad I didn't marinate the meat yet. I'm sure it will make nice jerky-just not today."

"I ordered this products a few months back because I wanted to make some deer jerky. I have shopped around a few places and didn't quite find what I wanted. I went online, read up on this particular dehydrator and decided to make the purchase. GREAT MOVE on my part!! This dehydrator is a great product! I have never made jerky before so I wanted to get something that would be simple to use and provide me with great results. This product did just that! I couldn't be more happy. The other people in my office loved the jerky, several have asked me about buying the same dehydrator for there on use. I would highly recommend this product!!!"

"I used a so called 'top of the line' dehydrator for years. This one works every bit as well. The other machine was murderous to clean and this one is an absolute dream. Deer jerky came out perfect in 4 hrs with minimal switching around. Instructions recommend precooking meat, but I found this to be unnecessary with the power of this dehydrator. The fan is rear mounted, another plus in cleaning up afterward. Results were more than satisfactory, results were outstanding..."
