Steel Shotshells,July 14, 2009
By MisterK80from San Francisco, California
"Winchester Steel Shotshells are GRRREAT! Used to shoot RIO Steel Shotshells. But the RIO's became scarce and then became very expensive to shoot. The price of the Winchester in either 12 or 20 gauge is just right for the budget especially in this time of tight money especially if you love clay shooting. Now if there was only a 28 gauge or a 410 in steel."

6 SHOT BETTER,July 7, 2009
By Blueboys3from Northwest, FL
"Have used these steal game loads in the duck blind to shoot cripples on the water. We use them very effectively on Woodies where the range is short and the noise level of the report is lower."

Good Shells, Great Price,May 5, 2009
By codythetrapshooterfrom Sonoma, Ca
"If I can, I always use non-toxic shells for all my hunting, even if not required by law. I bought these shells mostly for hunting starlings and depredation hunting of blackbirds, they cycle very well through my Benelli SBE2, and pattern better than the two more expensive brands of shells I tried. the downside of these shells is they can't be reloaded well because the crimp area gets quite shredded when fired because it's heat sealed. It also might be nice if they had a bigger load of shot at the same or higher velocity, but these do kill the birds ok as is."

Steel Shot mandate,May 3, 2009
By BowyerBobfrom Central New Jersey hunting private farmland
"My state has mandated steel shot use on all state run target ranges. Steel shot is hard to find in local sporting goods stores at a reasonable price. The ammo I purchased was half the cost and was delivered in two days."

depends on your gun,April 9, 2009
By therealjimmyfrom San Francisco, CA
"These shells vary in quality; some are fine, but some are definitely not. Sometimes the case rims are too thick (extractors don't like them) or the hull itself is bulged (you have to really press the shell into the chamber.)
This doesn't matter shooting an over/under, but our pumps and autos have had issues extracting and/or feeding, which is NOT something you want on the fast doubles in skeet, for instance.
Firing-wise, they're great for sports and shoot fine. We're buying these for the low price anyway, right?"

Xpert Steel shot,March 2, 2009
By xc800spfrom Minnesota
"Todays private clubs require the use of non-toxic shot for hunting and sporting clays, these shells are very reliable and cost effective for both. I have never had a miss-fire and have shot thousands of rounds of Xpert Steel 12 & 20ga shot shells."

great for skeet but not teal,February 8, 2009
By duckman1995from Fox Lake IL
"i bought these shells for finishing shots on ducks but they do not have the killing power like regular steel shot has. I put all the shells that i have in my skeet bag and i am very impressed wiht these target loads on skeet."

great load,February 6, 2009
By 12guagewonderfrom soledad,ca
"These shells perform flawlessly through my remington 870 and I have shot them through remington 1100's. I have taken pheasant, quial, squirrels and rabbits all with #7. Where I live in California in the condor zone non-lead ammuntion is required, this amo is cheap to shoot and is very versitile to all types of game. I would recomend this product to everyone."

Good Practice Shotshell for the Price,January 10, 2009
By phoenix27from Elwood, Long Island, NY
"This Winchester #7 steel Xpert ammo is reasonably priced and all the rounds go bang. The economy low metal rims are a little sticky in my Mossberg 500A and require a bit more muscle to eject, but work 100% reliably in my Mossy 930 SPX autoloader. I probably wouldn't hunt with this ammo and would use lead for game if allowed by law, due to lead's downrange potential. However, it sure is good stuff for weapons and SHTF situation repetition training and does not put the hurt into your wallet or your shoulder like slugs and 00 Buck. You sort of get what you pay for and this ammo is clean and reliable for the price."

Good Impact, Low Range,September 30, 2008
By Brettster42from Fountain Valley, CA
"I've always trusted Winchester products because they have such a great rep in the industry. I thought I would give these shells a try, right price, right load. I shot the first few at close range and knocked em' dead. After a while, as the shots got further out, I notice a decrease in kill rate. I thought maybe I was off but I loaded a few of my Federals into the chamber and started knockin em' down again. I came to realize that the Winchesters offer a good load at close range but lack luster a bit further out. May have to compensate and lead a little further than expected at the distance shots. Recomend if your on a refuge and your forced into the steel shot but otherwise, why bother.=>"
