absolutely fantastic,September 24, 2009

"I have two Toros the 51 and 61. The line capacity is great ,on the 51 I run 30lb powerpro and the 61 I run 65lb powerpro. The drags on the toros are so smooth but yet when you hook a thirty plus pound chinook in the columia river you can torque down the drag and really put the screws to em. No matter how tight the drag is you never get the sticky jerky drag which hindered garcias for so long. The only thing I would like to see them do is to go to a metal frame with the same low-pofile design. The Reels are so big especially the 60's that the extra weight wouldnt matter anyway. I have curados, lunas, calcuttas and quantum tour editions but the Toro is by far in my own opinion the superior reel. And like all top end reels will last many years offsetting the cost, like most things you get what you pay for."

Versatile Reel,August 10, 2009

"I have the Toro 60 HS; It's obviously a bit on the large size (it makes most of my bass rods look like kids' toys) but it works like a dream on any rod, for any style of fishing. I've used this reel for throwing giant Muskie jerkbaits to quarter-ounce spinners. It is, at once, powerful enough to throw and burn big bucktails, yet delicate enough to throw the small stuff without constant backlashing.
The line alarm is a nice feature, too. A great real to have when night fishing for big catfish!"

Toro 51-HS,August 9, 2009

"Truly is a beast of a reel. From inshore fishing to just your largemouth fishing the diversity of this reel is amazing. If you are truly a saltwater fishermen then the 60 size might be a better choice for line capacity, however that is a large reel. If you are a bass fisherman this reel has a ton of power, but might be a little larger and heavier than you like. I do some bass fishing with my reel, but a lot of catfishing, and tuna fishing."

Wow,April 19, 2009

"This may be the best casting reel I have ever fished. Its sheer power is just amazing, it sure did manhandle a whole mess of Florida Keys inshore fish. First off, I caught 3 tarpon, 1 of them triple digit and 10 or so barracuda. It casts heavy baits and light baits with equal length, accuracy and smoothness. The drag on this reel is truly an unstoppable force, making my energy pt look like a total wimp on a 2 pound angelfish. This reel is a beast!"
