It's clear that hunters are searching for decoys that look like live geese and, just as importantly, offer durability at an affordable price. A group of hunters from Vermillion, South Dakota decided to meet this need. From prototypes carved by a world-class decoy artist, each Dakota Decoy is precision-molded using virtually indestructible polyethylene. The hand-painted bodies have a natural brown base color that actually adds goose-fooling "worn-in" character after a few seasons. Below thick, durable flocking, the heads are black polyethylene. Like the bodies, this base color hides inevitable wear marks from trailers, pit blinds and off-season storage. The hunter-friendly Wind Walker system delivers a waddling action with a molded-in motion limiter and stretch-cord legs. Metal bases stabilize the Dakotas in high winds. Bases and bodies act as one unit when assembled for fast spread adjustments. Per 4. Available:
Active: two short, one curved, one searching head
Feeder: three traditional, one aggressive feeder head

As real as it gets,June 16, 2009
By mrbean1025from New Hampshire
"It took a while for me to break down and buy this type of decoy. They are worth every cent. I live on a pond in southern New Hampshire and frequently put the decoys in a field between the pond and my home. The resident geese from the pond will regularly walk throughout the decoys without concern. I have to say, the best part is watching drivers stop and watch them as though they are real geese."

Great Decoy,April 25, 2009
By BigT34from South Dakota
"Hunted over the dakotas this year and really had some great hunts. These are a very good decoy from a company that has great customer service. I had a problem with the heads on the feeders breaking at the base, but Bill at DD took care of the problem. I will be getting more, well worth the money."

Good decoys for the price,October 3, 2008
By goosmackfrom Brookings, SD
"Unlike the earlier review I have not seen/used a more perfect decoy than Dave Smith Decoys (not Steve Smith....a wide receiver for the Panthers) but again they are way too over-priced. I do like Dakotas....great size, positions, heavy duty stands, and good price; however, the paint, although looks good scratches off easily and my buddy had one decoy break....the strap that hooks to the base broke off on its first hunt of the year......Again great all around decoy but you may have to take extra care of them, would recommend slotted decoy bags."

Dakota Decoys,September 12, 2008
By NDTerminatiorfrom Devils Lake ND
"Added a dozen Dakotas to the spread for Early Season, and after having given them serious field use for the last 4 weeks, I can advise in my opinion these are the best full bodies to come along in a long time. The Dakotas are every bit as good as Hardcores or Steve Smiths and far superior to the Averys which currently make up the bulk of my spread. In fact, I'll be replacing the Averys with Dakotas over time. I can also add the Dakota have the best base system of any full body decoy, bar none..."

GREAT!!!!!!!!!!,August 24, 2008
By JET10from Colorado
"Me and one of my Buddies did alot of goose hunting the past year. We used alot of the G&H goose shells and the Big Foots. But then my Buddie found thiese decoys on the internet and they were a brand new product. We bought a dozen of thiese and put them to work right away. We set them up right infont of our layout blinds and i stared calling. Within minutes geese started comming from everyere and staring to lock up. We had groups of 2 dozen or more locking up ready to land with only a dozen of thiese decoys. THEY ARE AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
