Avid Hiker,March 28, 2009
By NewEnglandRogerfrom Connecticut
"This is the real deal. I used to limit my winter hiking to plowed roads. Then I tried these on a hiking trail in one of our state parks. The trail had a lot of ice and hard packed snow, and was up and down some steep hills. With the Yaktrax, no problem at all! I couldn't believe the traction. Anyone who has to walk in icy conditions should be packing these."

Yaktrax,March 14, 2009
By speeddemonxfrom Racine, WI
"An execllent tool to prevent falling on icy surfaces, easy to slip on, grip solidly on ice, comfortable on your feet, you don't even notice they are there, can collect wet snow on the heel section when it's warm. Easy to carry in your pocket when not needed. Highly satisfied and would recomend there use."

Yaktrax™ Pro Series Traction Device,March 9, 2009
By rusretfmfrom Wendell, MA
"I have always used the stretch type creepers with the studs. The studs generally tear out and you are left with little or no traction. There is no comparison, Yaktraxs are far superior and exceeded my expectations. It has been like the second ice age here this winter in western MA. My Yaktraxs have kept me upright and have survived the acid test of being worn day in and day out doing my daily winter barn chores. I would highly recommend Yaktraks for icy winter conditions . Yaktrax pro on Columbia trail shoes,March 3, 2009
By Pete46from NB,Connecticut
"That is the shoe I used these last on for snow blowing the driver-way. I'm going to give you some tips first . Put them on the shoe first and firmly adjust them so rubber on the edges locks into tread, then put you shoes on and lock velcro toe strap over and tie your shoes. When walking on bare floors there is a feeling of you could slide ,plus the fact you could scuff the floor and damage it . On rugs you can feel them grip and the stopping power. Out in the snow I felt them grip , but you have to get use them and pick up you feet . Also do not know if for prolong periods in the cold the metal spring will collect ice and freeze, so bending the foot while using them is a good idea to free and harden pack snow or ice , this may be a given. I bought them because I took a bad fall without them and I told all my friends they should get a pair to. hindsight is 20 /20."

Yaktrax,February 22, 2009
By Reggie13from Munising, Michigan
"These do provide superior traction on icy surfaces. Was very impressed with traction and the fact that they do not load up with snow, as some others do. They fit perfectly over a pair of Rocky Boots (stalker). Will add to review when and if they pass the test of time, which I'm sure they will."

durability issues,February 20, 2009
By dwsteigfrom Andreas, PA
"These cleats work, but are pretty wimpy. I've broken 2 pairs over 1.5 years... maybe 10-12 uses per pair. They'll do just fine for flat land walking, but if you intend to hike (real hiking) in the woods you'd be better off with Stabilicers... better grip, more durable.
Both pair of YakTrax I've owned tended to slip around on the sole of my boots, not really staying in place on even moderate inclines/declines. Soon after, they failed near the toe piece both times, even after repeated re-adjustment on the boot. Definitely not durable enough for hiking.
As stated earlier, they'll work well for flat excursions, icy sidewalks, snow shovelling, etc. Just don't expect to abuse them or they'll break/tear pretty easily."

No more slipping.,February 10, 2009
By MetRead1
"I'm a meter reader for a water co in Indiana, and needed something to wear to keep my footing on icy, slippery conditions. We first tried the rubber slip on style with golf shoe type studs, but the studs would pry out and fall out after the first day. The YAKTRAX worked beautifully. They were easy to put on, and truly provided grip on ice without feeling like you were walking in golf shoes. They are designed to be worn over leather-type hiking or work boots, not larger overshoes or 5 buckle boots. They work great and are easy to walk, and even jog in!"

Very Poor Quality!,February 9, 2009
By PHILCAR123from Buffalo, NY
"I purchased this product because the manufacturer stated that they could even be used for jogging. I used them for less than 2 weeks for walking only, using them only on snow and ice. The "spring" traction component broke apart causing the traction device to curl up around my feet while I was walking. This is my first experience with "Yaktrax". It will definitely be my last!"

Yak Trax for Slush and Ice Season!,February 9, 2009
By OllieBrowntheClownfrom New Haven, CT
"I hike daily with my rambunctious dog at a nearby state park that is very hilly. The Yak Trax are literally lifesavers when the trail conditions deteriorate to icy patches covered by slush. They also let me follow deer tracks and find terrific new trails with confidence. Yak Trax more or less put me on an equal footing (sorry about that!) with my dog. They are difficult to put on the first time, but they stretch out a bit after that and are very much worth the cost and the effort! (My last pair lasted four years). Happy hiking to all!"

Yaktrax Traction Device,January 31, 2009
By markyg45
"I bought this product after taking a fall on ice at home. My job requires me to be around construction sites and the winter ice conditions can vary from hard glaze to icey-snow cover. This product is excellent, comfortable to wear and performs very well on any condition encountered. I was impressed with how naturally you can walk on the various ice conditions with no loss of traction. Would recommend this product to anyone having a need to walk safely in icey conditions. Thanks for great product!!!"

Love my Yaktrax!,January 30, 2009
By Taz47from CT
"I purchased my Yaktrax Pro Series prior to our last storm which started out as snow and ended with a mix of snow, sleet and rain and promptly froze on everything! I put the Yaktrax on my boots and ventured onto my driveway which had about 1-2" of solid ice and I was amazed at the stability I had -- no slipping, no sliding and no falls. I wore my Yaktrax to work for two days and everyone kept coming to my office to see them. I just can't say enough about my Yaktrax and I know there are other women where I work that thought they were a great idea and the fact that you can put them on shoes, boots, etc. and the fact that they have a nice security strap that goes over the foot is a plus."
