"Good: It works, it is solid and reliable. Relatively inexpensive.
Bad: I had to round both front and back of loader so it will not hang up momentarily while loading with factory grips of my snub-nose .38. (I used 360 grit wet and dry with light hand pressure.)
If true speed is important, rounding just a hundredth of an inch or two, on both front and back edges of the loader, this will prevent it from hanging up or catching on the rubber grips on small revolvers.
This works with any round nosed bullet better than full wad-cutters or flat faced rounds. It also is smother with jacketed rounds. It should not be a problem with hollow points if they are rounded before the hollow."

"These work ok (not great, a tight fit) on my S&W model 19 with 38SP rounds. Very pesky to load with 357s. Of course it can depend on your grips but mine are slim. Would not recommend these overall."

"I ordered 4 of these for .38 and .357 weapons and they work great.
These work quite well and have not lost their 'grips' as once I load them I leave them loaded until use.

"I bought this for a S & W 642 five shot .38 revolver. It does not fit well at all. The cylinder does not swing out far enough for this loader to fit properly. While you can make the loader work by only partially inserting bullets into the chambers and then jiggling them free from the loader, it is not at all a fast or confident way to load. I tried it with a Taurus .38 revolver, and it does not work well for it, either. This item may work well for other types of revolvers, but it does not fit the small five shot ones well at all. If you are considering this reloader you would be wise to try it out somewhere before you buy. For me it was a waste of money."

Depends on the Revolver - Mediocre for 5-shot 442,August 18, 2009

"The speedloader is GREAT for my 7 shot Smith and Wesson 686. So in spite of the 2 stars I would recommend it.
However, the one I got for my five-shot small SW 442 does not work very well. It is not a smooth fit - the cylinder does not swing wide/far enough away from the frame. You have to jiggle the speedloader around to release the bullets into the cylinder.
In fairness to HKS, I do not think the 442 is specifically listed as one of the many models the 5 bullet speedloader is made for - on the package itself. However, when researching what to buy, it comes up as a speedloader for small frame 5 shot revolvers - and the manner in which it is marketed leads one to believe it will work or should work with a 442."

"Most importantly I thank HKS for manufacturing models for said guns. Cost very reasonable for quality products.
