"The fit of these boots are great. They look heavier than they are. WATERPROOF, very comfortable. Well worth the price."

Best I tried on at Cabelas,February 27, 2009
By LoserForJesus
"I was looking for a dual-purpose boot. A boot that could handle Backpacking and Hunting in cold temperatures. I went to the Hamburg store expecting to purchase the Cabelas Extreme Pac, but they were way too masive and like most every other pair of Pac boots, they allowed my foot to move around too much inside, and allowed my toes to hit the front of the boot when going down hill. I tried on every pair of Pac boots I could get my hands on to the point of tearing some skin off my finger while I laced them all up. In the end This boot had the best ability to keep my foot in place so I purchased them. After breaking them in for a month, I'd say they get a 4 out of 5 for exhausting sweat from your feet and a 4 out of 5 for water proofness (there was some moisture allowed through the toe box when submerged in a stream below the tongue for about 20 seconds). They also get a 4 out of 5 for weight. Lastly, a 4 out of 5 for design... I wish more of Cabela's Pac boots had a liner with most of the insulation in the liner and very little more then the shell on the actual boot. This would allow for the insulation to dry over night when in cold temperatures while backpacking, or would allow for me to purchase another set as backups. Overally, I'm pleased with my purchase, they support me when backpacking, aren't too heavy, are watherproof and breathable, and will keep my feet warm when in the stand. Blessings!"

Defective Product,February 24, 2009
By CJacobsonfrom Park Falls, WI
"First off, I'd like to say I'm giving these boots 4 stars because they deserve it. They're a good boot. Light weight, good traction, and warm. The problems I had with them were: *The first lace hook bent...on both boots. *They run very narrow...I usuallly wear a 10, I ordered an 11 to accomodate a boot liner and from reading the previous reviews. The 11 fit well with no bootliner. With the liner, it was WAY too tight. *Boots took a couple of weeks to break in. I work in the woods everyday and my shins were sore after the first couple days. I actually started skipping lace hooks to alleviate this problem. Once they were broken in they were VERY comfortable. Could wear them all day! *The reason I'm returning them...as I was lacing them to go out ice fishing, one of the lace hooks snapped off!
So...now I have a very comfortable well broken in pair of boots that need to be returned. I'm not going to be getting the same pair of boots however. I actually ordered these boots one size large to accomodate a boot liner, but obviously couldn't use them. I'm going to order the Predator Extreme Pac's because they come with a liner and the price. I'd order the Rocky Snow Stalker, but it's WAY over priced.
Thanks Cabela's.... for offering such a wide variety of boots at exceptional prices, and fantastic customer service."

"I have used the boots for snowmobiling and found them very warm and comfortable. The light weight and nimble feel make a nice snowshoe boot as well. Good traction for pulling a sled ice fishing. I have not had an opportunity to test the waterproof claims."

Cabela's Switchback 1400 gram Pac Boots,December 21, 2008
By BooyGuyfrom Minot, North Dakota
"These boots are warm and comfortable. I was outside for around 3 hours moving snow today. The temperature was 15 below/chill factor 35 below and my feet never got cold. Buy the next size larger if you are planning on wearing heavy socks. I will be ice fishing next weekend and based on today's use, I'm sure my feet will be warm."

Cabelas Switchback 1,400-gram Hunting Pac Boots,December 15, 2008
By Resugunfrom Upper Peninsula of Michigan
"I wore these boots twice while deer hunting from an elevated stand. The first time the temperature was in the twenties, the next time in the low thirties. Each time, after two hours my feet were too cold to continue hunting. I was very dissatisfied with these boots as I expected, from the catalog information, that they would keep my feet warm even at tempertatures that feel below zero."
