Weather Station and software,May 4, 2009
By KHSIowafrom Iowa
"The weather station is moerately useful. It was purchased because it listed a remotable distance of 300 ft. It will cannot transmit more than 125 feet thru one exterior wall. Because of that I had to mount the receiver in the garage instead of my office near my PC. The receiver does provide accurate readings but the touch screen is not very intuitive. The PC software provide is practically useless. It is extremely complex and difficult to use. Even if I could remote the receiver to my office, I would probably not use the software. Overall, I am able to obtain basic weather info as long as I check it daily. The receiver only records 24 hours of data so it is impossible to keep track of trends. This unit is over priced for what it does."

"............ Very Nice, Very well made right down to the screws.
Heavy Wet Snow here last evening and i did detect the Wind Direction Vane was a little sluggish for a while. I also lost power for a few hours and the System hardly missed a beat. I still have to find a permenant and level place for the Rain Gage later this Spring."

Weather Station,December 20, 2008
By dmj245from Bruceton Mills, WV
"Bought this for my father for his birthday and then set it up for him. I was quite impressed with the overall appearance and operation of the unit. It took a bit of time to fine tune it, but when I was done, it worked great and needed very little follow-up maintenance.
About once a year the battery compartments need to be cleaned and new batteries installed since they are exposed indirectly to the weather. You might want to check the wiring that goes from the equipment (water measurement cup, wind speed unit, etc) to each wireless transmitter which is where the batteries are since these items are exposed to the rain, heat, snow etc. all year long.
My dad used this weather station till he passed away, and would call me everyday with a, quite accurate "local" weather report. I'm seriously thinking of buying one for myself, and if I do, this is the one I would buy."
