Not as good as I expected for the money paid,August 10, 2009
By Dubby213from South Dakota
"The mixer does not lineup all that well with the grinder, you have to have is exact or it will not work, the shaft of the mixer does not go into the grinder far enough to engage the gears,as for how it actually works I have not used it yet. For the money I guess I would not say it is all that great. The hopper size is what I needed."

"Does 30lbs of meat easily. built in clutch sorta to allow changing directions of the paddles. Instead of 1 direction you can double clutch the start switch and change the direction. Well made so far"

Mixer Review,December 16, 2008
By BigDaddyEarlfrom McMinnville, OR
"The mixer upon initial opening show's signs of being potentially warped - when using a straight edge to confirm this - it was "tweaked"....not enough gusseting around the legs. The Gear Drive is a rough reduction gear, much noisier than the grinder which was powering it. The Allen-Head "set-screws" which you have to install for the rear bearing kept backing off (fixed with a little teflon tape) - but over-all, I found we could mix our burger and spices just as fast by hand - although a bit messy. Love the Grinder, not a huge fan of the mixer."

Meat Mixer,November 24, 2008
By PetersPolishSausagefrom Schodack, NY
"Just got done with my first time sausage making, Everything went very well. We used the polish kit and it is yummy. Mixer worked great. I ran the unit in both directions and when you add the 1 1/2 cup water to the meat and spice mixture it blends together with no problems. I used 50% venison and 50% Pork. Fried up some with olive oil and wow great sausage! Thanks for the help! Poppy! **Cabela's get more Italian sausage mix your always out!!!** I have the 1 hp grind and meat cuber all work great!"

Okay for course mixing,November 21, 2008
By cjl1968from Andover, MN
"The mixer worked good enough for a course mix, but not if you want all the contents mixed thoroughly. I mixed 50% pork and 50% venison at about 30 degrees F out in the garage. I mixed the meat first, because when you add cure and spices for a sausage recipe the meat becomes much more stiffer. What I noticed is that when the paddles would come around, it would shift the meat over, and when another paddle that sits next to the other would shift the meat back to the original position it started in. So in other words the meat was being pushed back and forth without mixing. So after about 30 minutes of turning the crank, forward and backward to try to mix it. The contents was left with baseball sized globs of pork and venison ground meat, that was not mixed. The weight of the ground meat was a total of 15 pounds, so maybe it was because I didn't have enough meat in there? It might perform differently if I had more in there.... If that is the case then I will write another review to add to this one."

Mixer,October 22, 2008
By ItalianSausageManfrom Marlborough, Massachusetts
"It mixes very well, but it is way too hard to get the mixed meat out of the unit... If the front had a door that opened or something like that it would be much easier to get the meat out."
