"THIS IS A GREAT ADDITION TO THE GREENHEAD GEAR LINE OF DECOYS. THESE OVERSIZED DECOYS ALLOW THE HUNTER WITH LIMITED ROOM IN THE BOAT OR TRUCK TO HAUL DECOYS A MORE COMPACT WAY TO GET THE DECOYS FROM THE HOUSE TO THE HOLE. THEY ALSO CREATE THE DECEPTION OF A LARGE SPREAD WITH A FEWER AMOUNT OF DECOYS. THESE DECOYS ARE VERY LIFELIKE JUST AS ALL OTHER DECOYS IN THE GREENHEAD GEAR LINE. THE OPTION TO ALSO GET ALL DRAKES IS NICE WHEN YOU WANT TO ADD ALOT OF COLOR TO REACH THE EYES OF THOSE FAR OFF BIRDS"

"these deeks are awesome due to price and size. i experienced some chipping directly out of the box but no problem, called up avery and they sents new deeks out to me in 3 days. paint holds if you use avery slotted bags as well.thanks cabelas and avery"

"I recently purchased the over-sized northern shoveler decoys to add to my late season spread when i hit the coastal states. These decoys looked great right out of the box. The ducks loved the look of them and with the pronounced white on these decoys it made my spread stand out even more attracting not only just shovlers but other dabblers and divers as well. I would recommend these decoys for anyone who is looking to enhance their decoy spread."

"Dekes are some of the best I have seen for the money.Very Realistic...I WISH SOMEONE HAD A KEEL YOU EITHER FILL WITH WEIGHT OR MAKE IT A WATER KEEL.Dekes get heavy carrying alot.. GREAT DEKES THO.."

"The mallards look good! The ducks agree too. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because there were some spots without paint when I took them out of the box (specifically, little marks on the top of the head and on the bill). They have been on 6 trips so far in my decoy bag in the back of my truck and then in the john boat and no further loss of paint (so far), which makes me think they came out of the factory like this as opposed to chipping during shipping. If I weren't looking for it I probably wouldn't have noticed, and from a distance they look awesome, so as long as they don't lose anymore paint I will be buying more!"

Greenhead Gear Over-Size Series Black Duck Decoys,

"Hello Fellow Hunters,
After hunting without these "specialty species" Black Duck decoys, I am convinced they are worth the purchase. The reason I say this is because of the pairing habits of ducks in the late season. Also, Black Ducks are much warier later in the season since they have been exposed to some hunters and have seen plenty of Mallard decoy spreads.
I have purchased several different brands of decoys and find that Greenhead Gear are about the best you can get for durability and price. These Black Duck decoys are very realistic and durable. I should have purchased them a few seasons ago.
If you are a die hard waterfowl hunter, these Black Duck decoys are a must for your decoy spread. They are well made and very effective decoys.

"Mine came with the fixed keel, 3 of the keels were bent so bad they were almost touching the underside of the decoy body. So, I've only used the 3 good ones and painted the others into hoodies, I will use the bad ones around my ponds since the water never gets rough. Had an issue getting the removable GHG keels on the last set I ordered. Paint from some mallards I bought 3 years ago is quickly chipping off, and I am not that rough with them. I am definitely through buying GHG decoys. Spend a little extra money and buy some nice G&H or Herters and be done with it."

Best Deaks Yet From Greenhead,

"The detail to price ratio can't be beat with Greenhead Gear. The new fixed keel is great for those of us who never hunt over dry fields. We leave our decoys out in the Northern California rice all season and the removable keels would often remove themselves causing a relatively high decoy mortality rate (lost deaks).
Paint durability still seems to be a bit of an issue. One season is about all you can expect without some paint tune up, but I'm sure Greenhead will continue to work on it."

"The Greenhead Gear decoys are very true to colors & size proportion. They were very effective in our decoy spread on opening day 2008. If you are trying to decide on what size of decoys to purchase, I would suggest the Over-Size model. The birds can see them better in choppy water conditions."
