"This is a beautifully made firearm. As well as modern and fully functional. The stainless steel construction is low maintenance. With comfortable hardwood grips. A must have for beginner as well as experienced black powder shooters. I especially like the quick change cylinder."

No regrets about buying this gun....,June 17, 2009
By BlackpowderJoefrom Phoenix, AZ.
"I went in to buy the Blue Steel version of this gun, however, when I picked this one up I had to have it.
I took my 12 year old son to the range to try it out together. We kept the shooting at only 10 yards due to it being my sons first time out. We found that the gun shot pretty much to point of aim when using 40 grains of Pyrodex P and a .454 (speer) ball and Cabelas felt wads. I have not yet tried without the wads to determine if there were any ballistics changes.
I wiped the gun down after every cylinder and the soot came off with no effort. I swabbed the barrel a couple of time during the session and all residues came out effortlessly. Cleaning the gun afterwards was a snap.
I love the fit and finish on the revolver I got. There were some minor tool marks (really just grind marks) inside the frame at both the front and back. With the gun assembled there are no defects to be seen anywhere. Even the joint between trigger guard and frame is barely discernable.
When I see them on sale again I will get another."

Very Good,April 2, 2009
By tozerfrom Georgia
"I found this item to be very good quality. The action is a little stiff, making cocking hard on the thumb. But I think that will loosen with use. All in all a very nice pistol."

Better than the picture...,February 7, 2009
By Ocelot
"I bought this black powder revolver from Cabelas based on many high user reviews, the picture of it really topped it off though. I must say, the picture does no justice of this beautiful piece of artwork. As I opened the box I was expecting to notice some minor flaws(fitting, grips, cylinder tightness, action), not a single flaw was noticed with this reproduction...I just melted in amazement of the quality. I still have not fired it, but can tell you that if it fires HALF as good as it looks I will be impressed. I like the raw photograph that Cabelas has on the website, it is not photoshopped or altered in any way to make the product look higher quality like some other sites I have bought from (which I will not name). What you see is what you get, a great product from a trustworthy retailer! Five stars!!!"
