dont buy for your spotting scope,September 27, 2009
By onionskinsfrom I hunt in canada over 50 days a year every year.
"I purchased this product for a sheep hunt in B.C. Canada. I ended up taking two days out of my hunt to go purchase a solid tripod back in town. The gorilla pod was too hard to find somthing in the right location to wrap it on, and by the time you did the game had moved, or seen you moving around buy then. I hunt sheep, elk , mule deer and whitetails over 60 days a year, thought this product might work and be lighter than a tripod. It's lighter alright but the only thing its useful for is your camera after you put the meat on the table."

Clever and sturdy, supremely portable,April 7, 2009
By Klipspringerfrom Colorado
"I wanted a tripod that was small, compact, easily carried, but sturdy enough to securely hold a large Nikon SLR camera. Most "backpacking" tripods are much too flimsy for a heavy camera or spotting scope; I've wasted money on several of them. The Gorilla Pod is very sturdy, not affected by wind. Infinitely better than a wobbly aluminum tripod. Its only "shortcoming" is just that--it is short. But, that drawback can often be overcome by securing it to a branch or fence. It takes up little room in a pack and adds virtually no weight. It really comes in handy for a self-timer "hero" photo of you and your trophy if you're hunting by yourself. The Pod can accompany you anywhere...the best tripod in the world is useless if you don't have it with you. Make sure you have a coin with you to attach the screw to your tripod socket, as its design makes finger tightening difficult. Minor complaints for a clever product. Highly recommended."

"The Pod gives me a secure, adjustable, movable mount for my HandyCam on the mirror stem of my BRP CanAm Spyder. This allows me to share some great rides with distant friends."

Great Pod !!,December 23, 2008
By Elk101from Salmon Idaho
"The Gorilla Pod, wish I had thought of it !! It really does work as advertised. I have a compact spotting scope that fits in a backpack but carrying a tripod was just too much weight. This works great, light weight and unlike a conventional tripod is very versatile. Great product. Thanks Cabelas !"

"I have a Nikon D200 with a 18-200 lens. The pod held it steady as a rock. I used it for a multi second exposure and the photo was clear."

Awesome,September 29, 2008
By BillingsMontanafrom Billings, Montana
"Great product the camera fits on it well and it can wrap around anything and also stand alone on the ground or on a rock, awesome to have especially if you are all by yourself in the field or you want to get a group picture with everyone in the picture at once. I would highly recommend this product and I think I will be getting this as a stocking stuffer for at least 3 of my friends for Christmas this year as well:)"
