Rainforest Elk,November 18, 2009
By WAMASTERHUNTERfrom Seahurst,WA.
"I had the pleasure of wearing these MTO50 Rain Bibs for a week plus elk hunt on the Washington coast. We averaged two plus inches of rain a day. The material is very quiet and the bibs are very comfortable. The only issue were the strap adjustment clips on the suspenders. Had to play around with them to get them out of the way of my pack frame straps. 80 pounds of elk meat on a pack frame will let you know in a hurry if there is something underneath."

Thoroughly Tested!,September 22, 2009
By Alaskatestedfrom Craig, Alaska
"Hunting Sitka Blacktail, and black bear in S.E. Alaska, we covered every landscape available. From heavy brush to the gear ripping clearcuts. Did a lot of sitting and a lot of hiking. 5 days solid so far in pooring rain and one day with 50mph winds. This stuff has rock solid construction, tough material, will keep you dry in the wettest conditions. Incredibly windproof and warm. Quiet as can be in the brush.
Only Dislikes. Zipper does not zip upward from the crotch for easy access. No vents in the legs. I had to customize the straps because the plastic strap securing piece would ride on top of my collar bone. Not a problem unless you are wearing a back pack. Then it hurts. No problem though. Cut it loose and flip the buckles and retuck the loose end of the straps back in. It is now infinitely adjustable. Worked like a charm."

Mt050 rain bibs,September 13, 2009
By RealAlaskanHunterfrom Bethel/Quinhagak, AK
"As forementioned, these were great in the field. There wasn't any bad weather for me to test them out this year. however my main drawback was with the zipper being one way. several times I had to drop everything and take care of "buisness". since I hauled out one moose by myself for a mile pack, overall I would say so far it has been worth the money. but we'll see when the bad weather hits"

Good but not Great,July 28, 2009
By SEG22from Chatham, Il
"The bibs are going to be a good addition to my hunting clothing for bad weather. I like the material, the leg zippers and the fit. I have no doubt they will keep me dry in wet weather. The couple of things that could be better are: like everyone else, the front zipper could have been a two way one to make it easier to access when the 'urge' hit. The other thing are the pockets on the upper part of the bibs - they will be dry since they will be under the coat, but impossible to access without unzipping the parka. The fishing guidewear has these pockets on the hips and they seem to work well.
Overall - good item - just not a 5 star"

Good Material/Needs more pockets,March 15, 2009

"Keeps you dry when you need it. The high chest pockets are tough to reach when you're wearing a jacket. Full zip legs are key. The fit is somewhat bulky and loose."

High quality, low tech,December 14, 2008
By robbjfrom washington
"Good quality material but the lack of two way zips makes peeing and venting a problem. Simply putting two way zips on the front and legs zippers would make this a 5 star technical product that would be much better in the field."

Rain Bibs,December 7, 2008
By RockyMountainsElkHunterfrom Canadian Rockies, BC
"I bought these pants last year and they performed quite well. The only real drawbacks are minor, one is the front zipper only opens from the top, this is no good when you're all dressed and have to go to the washroom, the other is there are no pockets that are accessible with a jacket on and zipped up. I chose to only write the drawbacks because when I read reviews this is what I'm looking for. I like the pants but I feel with these minor changes I would like them much much more and this is why they fall short of 5 stars."

not quite there,October 28, 2008
By Whitetailpredatorfrom Southern Illinois
"The guidewear rain bibs are a quality piece of equipment. They are most comfortable, quiet and functional. The full length leg zippers are very user friendly. The product does, however, fall a little short in two areas. First, the product description described two rear pockets which do not exist. Apparently this description was not used in all applications by Cabela's. Without the rear pockets I am forced to put my wallet and handkerchief in the front bellows pockets which is awkward and could be solved easily by putting at least one rear pocket on the item. Second, while not mentioned in the product description, the bibs do not have a north/south zipper in front. Once dressed, urination becomes difficult with the zipper pull tab up on your chest. It would be a relatively easy fix and something I expected from a top of the line product."

"The bibs are great! I am 6'1" tall, about 210 pounds and decided on the large, they fit perfect. I will never go back to regular pants again, keeping cold wind and water off of your lower back is priceless. No leaks to speak of"

Warm, dry and comfortable,August 24, 2007
By snowmanak2from Fairbanks, Alaska
"I bought a set of these with the jacket and the bibs for hunting in Alaska. I hunt for 10-14 days every fall in some of the worst weather. On one trip I spent 20 hours in rain, freezing rain, rain mixed with snow and finally an all out blizard with a foot of snow in 2 hours. We had a moose down and were determined to get it 15 miles back to camp. The winds were 40+ miles an hour and these clothes were awesome. I flat recomend them. Out of three guys in the storm, I was warm and dry. The other guys were hypothermic. Both of them got back to town and ordered a set. I caught the inner liner on my cabelas miendel boot eyelets and ripped a small hole in the liner. They still function perfectly 4 years latter. I ordered the unisulated bibs and with layers under them they are perfectly warm. I have worn the bibs to 0 degrees."

Gore-Tex Guidewear Rain Bibs,November 25, 2006
By DavidWfrom Rapid City, SD
"My experience wearing the rain bibs involved a variation in temperatures. At 15 degree temperature they were warm & remained quiet. The bibs were of course wind & waterproof but surpisingly roomly enough to allow insulating layers underneath. The low pile of the MT50 didn't hold any water or cockleburs so they remained very light weight. The adjustable snap bottom around the boot kept snow out negating the need for gaters.
In 70 degree weather they remained surprisingly cool & breathed well.
I was very pleased overall with the performance and would highly recommend them.
My only suggestions would be for lighter camo colors and a bottom access zipper for urinating."
