"I have this parka for already a year. Everything is ok except few small things i'd like to know before purchase. 1) It's realy on the heavy side compared with UnderArmour products. The hevyest is outer shell :/ 2) Internal jacket is filled with some synthetic fiber to keep you warm, but it's not breathing very well so you will get wet very fast when having long walk etc ... again UA rules, because it's drying faster. 3) If internal jacket is worn on its own then you need to know that nylon lining is not so quiet as you may expect... especialy when you have 2 days beard which is scraching against this lining :)
So in conclusion if i would be asked by friend what to do, i would definetely recommend to stick with UA stuff.
p.s. UA is not perfect also :) UA pants are "louder" than those made from MT050 from Cabelas :)"

"This is the best cold weather coat I have ever owned hands down. I have worn it in snowy 50 mph winds with a wind chill of around 0. A suggestion I have is buy one after some of the big game seasons have ended and you can find one about $50 cheaper at the store and on-line."

"This parka is very warm and it is waterproof but so bulky that it makes it almost impossible to move effectively through the bush. It bulges in some spots and was tight in the shoulders and arms. It does not fit well. Better off buying another parka and layering it up myself..."

"The sleeves, at the cuffs, are snug in the liner/vest. But for sure, no wind will get up there to give you a chill. It is a very warm, very comfortable, soft and quite jacket. It kept me dry for 5 hours hunting in the rain. Size runs true for me. I take an xl and that fit fine. I am very please with the purchase. Now we just need to see if it will hold up under a few years of every day ware."

"I purchased this as a replacement for my old, noisy, parka, primarily for deer hunting. The abundance of pockets is a real plus, and the collar system is excellent for cold weather -- with this parka I can wear less layers, not use a neckie, and still keep warmer than my previous gear.. Additionally, this parka is quiet, even in cold weather. I also purchased bibs, which I reviewed separately -- the bibs would be almost perfect with the addition of full length leg zippers to make it easier to get the bibs on and off over pack boots. Lastly, the moisture control is excellent -- if you get sweated up walking around, you dry out and stay warm."

"I HARDLY KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN. I searched long and hard before this investment was made. After reading the reviews, and talking with a Cabela's employee, I was finally convinced that this was going to be my best bang for the buck.
I admit...it is a little pricey...but let me take you thru 4 days of my hunt this year in New York for rifle season.
Day 1....it rained....and when i say it rained...i mean MONSOON type rain!!! At one point, as i hung from side of my tree in my kicker stand i wondered what the heck i was doing out in that weather...but I WAS DRY...COMPLETELY DRY!!! NOT A DRIP, OR A LEAK OR ANYTHING got INSIDE my parka. At one point, it felt as if I was taking a shower under a high pressure head.
Day 2...the temp dipped from 34 degrees to 18 degrees. The rain turned to snow...and man did it ever snow. I sat for about 3 1/2 hours and never got cold....actually at one point, i unzipped and let in a little cool air....how unreal is that?
The next few days stayed in the teens....then the bottom fell OUT!
Day 3....IT WAS ZERO DEGREES!!! I, dressed in my underarmor, teeshirt and jeans, threw on my parka and headed for the deer woods. I spent about 3 hours on stand...it was so cold even the deer weren't moving. BUT...I NEVER GOT COLD....NOT EVEN A SHIVER...NOTHING!!! I WAS COMFORTABLY WARM THE WHOLE TIME!!!
I've been hunting for 17 years on my own...never have i gone out in zero degree weather with nothing but a mere teeshirt and pants over my long underwear...it was always layer over layer over layer over layer...then by the time you got on your hunting coat, you couldn't even move your arms!!!
NEVER AGAIN I SAY...this has beenthe best investment i have ever made and my father has ALREADY bought his for next year.
The Realtree AP HD pattern was awesome...i blended in so well...I had one deer look in my direction for about 20 minutes...but could never pick me out...it KNEW something was there, but couldn't find it.
Never have i been so impressed with a piece of hunting gear.

Good equipment investment,December 10, 2008

"I purchased the extreme Weather 7 in 1 parka system prior to a mule deer hunting trip to Eastern Montana. While I was there they had a blizzard blow through the great plains with winds gusting up to 60 mph and a wind chill of 15 below zero. I thought " Hey what a great time to test out this parka". I stood out in the blizzard with my partner hoping to see some equally stupid deer moving to get shelter for a half an hour. I never got cold. The only part of me that was affected was my face when I turned into the wind. I also had on a pair of gore Tex insulated overalls which also helped block the wind. This coat worked great. I wore the inner coat during normal weather when it was down around 15 degrees along with some layers of wool and polypropylene and was very comfortable. I would recommend this parka to anyone who wants the added insurance against the elements. I normally back pack hunt and this complete parka system would be too bulky for packing but the inner coat would work great."

"I have used the 7 & 1 parker this year fore the Maine deer hunting season tempertures between 50 & and down to 15 the coat has many good features. the MTO5O was very quite the outer gortex parker repelled rain as well as any rain coat on the market today. many pockets in the right places under arm zips work good on the way to your stand, the inner liner jacket very nice with the ability to become a vest ,BUT if you want the jaket fore overall warmth you can do just as well fore half the Price was told the warmest jacket they sell if so pack alot of liner clothes. intend to exchange fore a coat half the price."

"I was sick of getting cold and wet so I spent the money to get something decent. I have not been disapointed yet. I have sat all day in 10-15 degree windy weather and have not been cold yet. The real test will come in the next month. The jacket is heavy but not too bulky. I was a little concerned about this for bowhunting but slap an arm gaurd on and your good to go. Good location on the pockets, and some great options for all the different temps. for the whole season. The only thing I don't care for is its slightly noisy when going through brush. Overall the best jacket I have ever had for hunting and it should be for the price."

"This is my 4th MT0 50 Product and I have been thrilled with each one!!! Every item has exceeded my high expectations. Currently I have an extreme rain parka, gloves, cold weather coveralls and now this beauty. The price seems steep at first but here is how I justified the purchase. This combo jacket can be worn year round for where I hunt (AL, TN, WY, CO) and most places where I will go in the future. I would estimate the temp range at 5-80 F. The justification in this extreme temp range allows me to cover 4 temp zones with 1 item. This means I can pack lighter (less stuff) and still have everything to cover rain/snow, extreme cold, cold and mild temps. The liner jacket zips in securely to the shell with quality craftmanship. Multiple pockets make getting organized a breeze. I wish I had purchased this long ago. This combo will ensure you are always prepared for whatever nature throws out. It will ensure you can focus on the hunt and enjoy the moment in comfort. BTW - Thanks to Cabelas for the Review system they have in place. I check it on EVERY purchase."

"Overall I did like the coat, we just got back from an early October elk hunt here in Idaho. We woke up to snow, which turned to rain and eventually hit the mid 60's by early afternoon. You have to love Idaho weather!! That is the exact reason I bought a coat as versital as the 7 - in 1 parka. And it perfomed well and kept me both warm and dry. My only complaint is with the zippers, it was real pain to start the zipper on the outer shell and zippers under the arms do not zip easily while the coat is on."

"So far so good though I still haven't had the opportunity to try it in heavy rain. The shell's collar is too wide and should have had a string or some buttons to close it with. I've added some pushbuttons myself but that should have been done by the manufacturer. The outer shell is very soft and silent but I'm not yet convinced that it wont be ripped up in the woods, only time will tell. I have no doubt that it is warm enough for a Swedish winter but my parka is green while snow is white...
A funny detail is that the guy in the store (Hamburg, PA) where I bought it, assured me that the _liner_ too was in Gore-Tex. Even though I questioned that three(!) times he kept on telling me that both shell and liner were Gore-Tex. I still don't believe that but I bought it anyway and I don't regret it."

"I bought this parka a couple of months ago (for a "end of season price") and I absolutely love it! It is by far the best built and versatile hunting jacket I've ever owned. I bought this jacket to replace a parka that I had that made too much noise, especially for someone like me who only bow hunts. This parka is virtually silent. The material and quality are unmatched. I'm sure it will serve me for many years to come. I've worn the liner by itself as well as the outer jacket and they fit just as well in the stand alone configuration as they do together. I couldn't be happier with my choice. I know the jacket is a little on the expensive side of the house, but it is well worth it and I'm sure I won't have to buy another for several years. Thanks Cabela's for a Superior product!"
