"Very nice airgun. Throw away the scope, laser and worthless flashlight and get something decent. Have not noticed any noise reduction at all. The gun itself feels good and may become a freind. It cocks easy and the pellets feel secure, even the cheapo Daisy's. I recommend a Centerpoint 3X9-40mm and a NcStar green dot laser, this combo will make you feel better. Don't get frustrated and stay with it. Use Crosman premier hollow points and stay away from any PBA pellets. This is a nice gun, but you must upgrade. Well made and solid, but again get rid of the accessories and upgrade. Overall the polymer and plastic should last for years. Just remember to clean the lead deposits out of the rifled steel barrel. I'm keeping mine."

"I received this as a birthday gift from my wife (She is AWSOME).
I sighted it in at 75 yards and the accuracy/repeatability have been very good since. I have had a lot of fun "plinking" away and the only shots I have missed were my fault.
I shoot left handed and the way this feels when holding on a target is very comfortable. Most rifles that I shoot are designed for right handed shooters so this has been a very nice change.
What I enjoy the most is how quite it is when shooting. Normally when playing around in my back yard I shoot a 22cal or a 223cal. This is requires ear plugs or muffs which can be a pain. When shooting a regular rifle policing of brass is no fun either. With the Gamo I can shoot and have fun without the inconvenience of the addtional work.

"Well, i have a Gamo Whisper VH. I have shot 2 75-85 pound coyotes at 10 meter, headshots. This "Silencer" does not quiet the gun because "Silencers" are illegal unless you have Federal License. so Gamo cant make silencers on their guns. they are made to where when you shoot a animal it does not no where the noise came from allowing you to shoot again. so stop saying the silencers dont work theyre made to do what they do. anyway, i can shoot and break beer bottles at 270 meters 9 out of 10 times. it is very accurate, i have put the grt-3 trigger on it as well for less trigger pull. this gun i have tuned though so it is better than all of yours (im not bragging) because its tuned to shoot 1900 fps instead of 1000, with a 8.2 grain Predator Polymag. GET THIS GUN!"

"I was disappointed to receive my online purchase and to find that it shipped (a) without an instruction manual and (b) still requiring assembly.
The assembly is rather intuitive but just takes time. Mine was complicated by the absence of a part but I didn't know that until I took my problem to my local gun shop.
For simple tasks like loading ammunition, however, it is not intuitive for the first time user. The gun manufacturer's online customer service representative was one of the least responsive I've dealt with in years, taking me three exchanges before I could even get a manual or a diagram.
If you're new to the sport, don't buy this one unless you're prepared for a month or two of guessing and frustration."

"This is the first rifle I have owned and the first I have held since leaving in the military. I was apprehensive about making this purchase, but had to do something to reduce the number of squirrels running around/digging up everywhere/anything. A series of low snow winters coupled with a next door neighbor who feeds animals year round ("my wife likes to look at the animals") brought me to this position. Here are my observations. It's clearly not a toy. It's heavy and with the scope installed it looks like an assault rifle. It is quiet when you use lead pellets. The only sound you hear is what someone described as an improperly adjusted screen door slamming. It is somewhat intuitive to set-up (needs to be as the instructions are a little vague for a first-time gun owner. They must assume you have prior gun knowledge). Once you have the scope sighted, you can then sight the laser by using the scope's reticle. I took out 7 squirrels with my first 8 shots. Probably would have been 8 for 8 had I not tried out different lead pellet ammo. Seems different pellets have different flight characteristics. Something probably everyone knows, but me. So here I sit looking out my window and don't see a single squirrel. I know they are out there though...waiting for me and my "Whisper VH". This rifle is incredibly accurate!"

"This gun was tested at 20 yards and I am an experienced shooter. When I first opened the box I was uncertain if I liked the overall look and feel of the gun. The stock looks pretty cool, the dampener looks way too big and goofy, and the entire trigger mechanisam is just plain cheesy. The trigger is something I would expect to find on toy gun. It has the absolute worse pull I have ever experienced . First the pros: The gun does shoot fast . and accurate with the iron sights only. When you shoot regular lead pellets the gun is fairly quiet. When you shoot the PBA pellets they break the sound barrier making a boom rendering the dampener useless. cons: The scope and laser are horrible. I shot approximately 200 pellets and I could not get this thing to group with the scope. It seemed that it would start grouping sometimes and then all the sudden it would start shooting all over the place. I'm not sure if its really the scope at fault or the break barrel which seems to have a little bit of play in it. I can group far better with my glock 23 (.40) at 20 yards than I can with this rifle and scope. Very very dissapointing. I am returning this gun to exchange for a different brand. This experience has made me dislike Gamo altogether."

"I tell you what....."Happy as a hog in the mud" since I took "squirrel master" out of the box. I owned the Whisper DLX first... Great gun as well..Few days later was online and saw the VH and new I had to have it. Cabelas customer service was awsome as always and mailed me the new Varmit Hunter the day it became off back order. I would hop on this air rifle ASAP. Very easy to zero in the scope and lazer,think a twelve year old could handle the job. Just an absolute piece of art made by GAMO."

"The Whisper VH with the variable scope finally provided the accuracy that is required. I tried three other Gamo rifles with fixed 4 power scopes. I think all were accurate without the scope. (I didn't shoot open sights until the 3rd one). My guess is that the 4 power fixed scope was the problem. I did manage to get the lazer sighted in as well, but it was a little tricky. The lazer adjustments are not very senitive."

"The name "Whisper" is very misleading. This gun makes a significant noise when it goes off. Not from the pellet but from the mechanism. It is as loud as any other pellet gun. The "Silencer" on the end of the barrel serves little purpose."

"The mounting instructions for the lazer on the scope were incomplete. There is one slot screw and two hex headed screws on the front, only two are mentioned. You cannot align the lazer unless you figure out how to get all three working in unison. The light also attached to the scope was very poor quality and only worked about 10% of the time. The touch pads that attached to the stock continually fell off. I cleaned the stock with alcohol before mounting to no avail. The whisper VH that I received was so quiet that I suspected the velocity was to low. I called GAMO and was told how to perform a paraffin penetration test for velocity. At the muzzle penetration with lead should have been 1.29 inches - I got 3/4 of an inch. The penetration with a PBA pellet should have been 2 inches - I got 1.5 inches. I called GAMO to explain the results and to get further instructions. It took 2 days to get through, a very sleepy sounding lady answered the phone who did not have a clue about what I was saying. In frustration I asked how to ship it back to them for repairs (all of the GAMO instruction say do not return to the place of purchase). I was told if I sent it to them expect at least 6 weeks and that I should send it back to who ever I bought it from. She clearly did not want to be bothered. When I called earlier on the light and lazer that did not work, I was told that they would send me another one, but only expect to do that once because basically people were not honest and she suspected that it was a ruse for people to get free parts. Cabela's on the other hand were great. They asked no questions when I called and said send it back. My summary is that GAMO makes a good product but may have released this model to soon. They have also used inferior parts for the scope assembly, especially the lazer and light. Their customer service is sadly lacking and staffed by people with no product knowledge."

"Fantastic gun, Very, Very accurate !!! Tight groups at 35 yards. Scope seems Very well made. Laser kinda cheesy, zero it 3 shots later 3 feet off. but a cool toy. The trigger was rough feeling, however I have now shot several hundred shots through it, and it has smoothed up a lot. was going to buy the aftermarket trigger. However it has smoothed up ( or maybe I just got used to it? ) anyway I am sticking to the stock one. When you grab hold of this gun, you can tell its quality !!! This is a very serious target and varmint rifle. I don't know if the silencer really works or not? However it is a great conversation starter ! Other than the crummy laser this is the best pellet rifle, I have ever owned....."
