Cabela's Dry-Plus® ES1 Maximum Raingear Jacket - Regular

Cabela's Dry-Plus? ES1 Maximum Raingear features a 3-layer Dry-Plus fabric that bonds a soft microfleece to the interior of our laminated ES1 fabric, creating the most advanced 3-layer fabric technology in rainwear today. Layer 1 is constructed from a soft, silent low-nap microfiber that is laminated to our Layer 2 100% waterproof/breathable Dry Plus membrane. Layer 3 is a soft microfleece liner bonded directly to the Dry-Plus membrane creating the 3-layer, single fabric, ES1 Maximum package. By bonding a microfleece directly to the Dry-Plus membrane, we eliminate the need for a separate liner, thus reducing bulk yet increasing durability over traditional 2.5-layer rainwear. These fully seam-sealed garments feature a durable water repellent treatment for added weather protection. The Jacket features a waterproof full-zip front and a three-piece adjustable hood. Drawcord waist seals the bottom. Hook-and-loop adjustable cuffs. Angled, zippered upper chest pocket. Two zippered side seam pockets. Imported. Sizes: M-2XL. Camo patterns: Mossy Oak? New Break-Up?, Realtree? AP HD?, Seclusion 3D?.

"The rain suits run very small if you wear a large ,order an x-tra large. This applies for both coat and pants."

GETS SOAKED, February 7, 2009

"Maybe I'm being too demanding but this dry plus only works for maybe a half an hour then the cuffs on the pants and jacket and the hem of the jacket starts getting soaked and starts working its way up, and then it takes hours to dry out on its on. Luckily I've only tested it on local hikes with my dogs and was able to come home and dry out but I'm pretty sure if I had to wear this in a situation where I was in the rain for days in a row I would be one leg aching miserable puppy. I've never had a goretex one but I'm thinking that I'd been better off spending the extra money. Course it does fold up pretty nice and is a good windbreaker but to be advertised as 100% waterproof seems a bit of a stretch to me. I hope if I spend the money on a Goretex one I am more satisfied. I am a little gunshy of buying one though. I did buy mine a couple of years ago also, so maybe they have improved since then."

"This jacket was a gift for my boyfriend for Christmas and he had actually gone and purchased one for himself from another competing company...unknown to myself. He put it on first thing and loved it and thanks to the weather in lovely VA, it was put to good use the next day. He stayed dry and warm the entire time and didn't have to wear his normal 4 layers of clothing. He loved that it didn't have a drawstring at the bottom-which means it didn't get caught on everything-and that it was lightweight, sheilded the wind and most of all-WATERPROOF, which definately comes in handy when you are catching up soaking wet dogs that run through the swamp :) Needless to say, the other jacket is now designated as his "work" jacket because the one I purchased was in his words, "Awesome!". I will say to order big though, because he normally wears L and I got an XL which fit perfect!! Definately a great jacket that's more than worth the money!!!"

"My husband got me the Cabela's Dry-Plus ES1 Maximum Raingear Jacket for Christmas and I absolutely LOVE it. I wore it deer hunting the next day, when I got to my stand it started raining pretty hard and it keep me very dry. The jacket does everything that the description said it would. I would definetly recommend the Cabela's Dry-Plus ES1 Maximum Raingear Jacket to anyone that's looking for that one raincoat that actually DOES keep you dry when you go huntin', fishin' or whatever."

Great except for the zipper, January 6, 2009

"The Dry Plus Rain Gear jacket seems to be fine. I've worn it several times in the rain now and have only one complaint. The zipper is a little tough to use. Could be that the teeth are too small but maybe if the teeth were larger--the jacket may leak."

"My future wife won lots of points for this one...... Live in a northern rain forest lots of rain and cold wind and this jacket keeps me dry and warm, Great jacket will be great for Elk hunting"

"I have bought and lived in many a "rainproof" raingear. THIS ONE IS IT FELLAS!!!!!! If you hunt elk in the rain of the NW or Goose and Duck hunt in the lousiest conditions , you need a set of these.Mark my words these are the best raingear jacket and pants that I have ever put on and Ive been doing it for 40+ years..........Sincerly , NW Elkhunter"

Runs small / buy big, October 11, 2008

"Bought this for an October Elk hunt in Idaho with the idea that I could layer under it, if it got wet and cold. The quality looks good but the XL fits my wife. I'm only 200 lbs and its tigtht across the shoulders with a T-Shirt on, no way to layer under this jacket. Looks like great quality but order big."

"Though ES1 does not pack small enough to fit into its own pocket, it is compressible enough to take in my day pack with plenty of room to spare. I bring the pants and the jacket with me in case the weather turns wet. The jacket is nearly as effective as an army gore-tex but I like it better if I layer properly."

"Everything as advertised and promised. It survived two rain soaked years in Alaska during the caribou-moose seasons.
Good as a windbreaker too.
Does get saturated after days of rain... still, great product"
