Rain Suede has been a Cabela's staple for many years. Our new Rain Suede, with Evolution fabric, takes the original and
makes it even better. In order to even consider replacing our original Rain Suede, the new fabric had to be perfect.
Evolution was that fabric. It's softer and quieter than our original Rain Suede, but retains the same exceptional
breathability of the original. Plus, the microdenier polyester allows camo patterns to print with extremely vivid detail
that never fades. The shell fabric is backed with 100% waterproof/breathable Dry-Plus and has an EcoNano Durable Water Repellant(DWR )
finish, which keeps water rolling off the garment, even under extreme pressure when kneeling or crawling. With
just a few quick shakes and a couple "brush-offs," the fabric is as dry as when you started the day. It's your first line of
defense against all types of moisture. You can wear it in a downpour and it will be ready to wear again the next day
without having to run it through a dryer. Evolution is also extremely versatile, so one investment will see you through
multiple hunting seasons. Because the fabric compacts easily, each piece can be rolled and stuffed into its own pocket
for storage. Moisture-wicking mesh liner provides next-to-skin comfort. Two zippered slash pockets create ample
storage space and are lined for warming chilled hands. A snap-close storm flap over the YKK® zipper and hook-and-loop-adjustable cuffs deliver added protection from moisture. Visored three-piece hood with drawstring and
cordlock at the rear. Double-reinforced forearms. Underarm gussets. Imported.

"Found this jacket to be very good on a late October 8-day pack in hunt in Idaho's Selway mountains.
Kept me dry when raining/snowing, and warm enough when on windswept ridge tops. Easily packable, but not the smallest on out there. I'd trade the slightly less packable trait for how well it protects any day.
Was not as quiet as wool (but what is?) when the temps got to below freezing, pine and cedar limbs did make some noise rubbing on the fabric. Not nearly as noisy as gore-tex though.
Gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because at the end of the day it will weigh a bit more as it seems to hold water. A quick dry by the stove and you're good to go though."

"hello fellow hunters, well i finally got to use my rain gear and i was a little concerned due to the strength of the material cause i live in oregon now out by mount hood and i am hunting in heavy woods, but it performed perfect no torn holes or punctures and i stayed completely dry. oh yeh very quiet i actually stocked up to about 35 yards on a deer and he never heard me, part of the time i was on my belly crawling through the mud and muck. the rain helped for him not hearing me, but the gear trully helped due to the material. brian"

"Just got back from a brown bear hunt in Alaska where it rains constantly. The rainwear did keep me dry and I didn't feel hot or uncomfortable. Packs nice and small. I traded my old raingear in on this one because it was advertised not to absorb water like the old rainwear. Well, it does absorb water, About a pint drained onto the tent floor each night after hunting, even after I shook out the water before bringing it in.It also gets heavy when it absorbs the water. Overall, its good raingear for light rain or general hunting.I'm keeping it, but Ill go back to the Helly Hansen Impertech for the drenching rain of Alaska and put up with the sweating!"

"A parka you can wear under many conditions including rain and wet snow but not limited to that. Makes a real functional outer jacket over a polar fleece or other mid range sweater or vest. Quiet and windproof. Great for layering. I am especially impressed with the hood design and the generous built in bill that protects your glasses and face. Overall good design and quality workmanship. If you plan to wear it as foul weather protection over your normal outfit plan on going up a size beyond what you would normally wear. You will find yourself wearing this parka a lot more than you would most rain wear, it is that good and feels more like a regular outerwear jacket, you may forget it is a rain jacket."

"parka is great, like the looks and materials.Is a bit heavy for packing and would recommend a larger size above what you would normally take.Found the fit a bit tight, especially it you want heavier/thicker undergarments on underneath, for warmth. I'm 5'11" and 185lbs. ordered a large. Sleeves could be a 1" or so longer, and a little more generous cut for more room and comfort. The bib pants fit totally different/great."

"Used this rain wear (parka and pants) for a 5 day spring bear hunt in Idaho in which it rained 4 of those days. The zipper required extra effort more than half the time to get it to work. Kept me fairly dry for about three hours as long as we were just spotting ... any longer and water seeped in the seams at the bottom of the jacket and soaked everything in the pockets. Also a set of pockets higher up would help ... rain running down your arms runs into the pockets due to the angle of your arms."

"Received parka as part of a set with bibs - the entire outfit fit well over heavy street clothes and should fit as well over hunting clothes. Parka was very comfortable and provided lots of room for movement. Good protection in moderate rain, but not yet worn in a heavy driving rain so rating is not 5 stars for that reason. Good pockets, zipper and hood - for me. Not too keen on large logo on left lower sleeve, but is of minor importance. Not hot or uncomfortable to wear and like very much the soft quiet fabric feel of the entire garmet."

"This is just what I was looking for. A parka that was waterproof (not just water repellant) and lightweight. This allows me to bulk up in layers with the parka as the top layer in colder wetter weather. I can also use it for ocean or bay fishing in the summer or warmer months when all I want is to keep the rain off me. I am of average build, 5'-10" tall, so I purchased an extra-large regular to accomodate extra layers in the cold seasons, yet not be so cumbersome as to fall off me in the warm seasons."

"I baught the Cabela's Rain Suede™ Evolution Packable Jacket and Pants. I only wore the gear once so far but it rained the whole time we were moose hunting and it was -1 degree celcius the gear worked perfect there was no moisture what so ever came through. Here in Newfoundland Canada we need the best rain gear you can get and I would say this is by far the best I have had yet. I had purchased the MTO5O gear and returned it because I got very wet in it. This gear is far better and cheeper. I will recommend to my hunting buddies and everyone that ask about the suite. I even baught one for the wife I liked this one so much."
