"I think they have fixed the issues some others were having with this camera since most reviews are around a year old. I bought this camera from a friends recommendation despite the reviews. I am pleased with this camera. The pics are are good quality. Those saying the quality was poor may have have it set to low res. instead of high. I left it out 10 days in rainy, windy and cold weather and it was working great when I picked it up. With all the wind I expected several pics of limbs blowing in the wind, but the cam also requires a heat signature as well as motion to trigger the cam., so I only had pics of deer, turkey and 1 bear. Also used this to find out what neighborhood dog was getting in my trash cans at night. Showed the pics to the dogs owner and he said he would keep the dog on a chain at night. The trigger speed is a little slow, and its range is somewhat limited, but for setting up on a trail or feeder it is a good choice. Or you can catch sneaky dogs...lol"

Good Entry Level Camera,

"I have owned two of these cameras within the past 3 years, and they are both about ready to be retired. Picture quality is low-which is to be expected. I really have no complaints other than the fact that the batteries always seem to pop out of their slots and the camera is very harsh on battery life, especially in the cold. Spend a little more money and buy a better camera."

"Got this cam for my dad for x-mas and got it hung over deer cane powder spot. Left it out for three weeks and was surprised to have 110 pics all of deer and one cow that wondered through. The pics were all great except for the night ones where the flash appears to not be that effective. But overall for the price the performance was a pleasant surprise. Batteries still good after 3 weeks also."

"FIRST CAMERA I SENT BACK BECAUSE IT DID"T WORK.(SECURITY CODE FAILED) THE SECOND CAMERA SHOWED 21 EVENTS BUT ONLY 10 PICTURES.THE NIGHT SHOTS WERE AWFUL. ALL YOU SAW WAS THERE EYES .(25-30 FT).SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY A BETTER ONE. I HOPE CABELS WILL LET ME RETURN THIS ONE."

"The product was received without shipping damage but was inoperative when batteries and SD disk were installed. There were no instructions that were available other than a quaick start inside the box. Could not figure out how to use the tree strap. The waterproofing gasket was out of the installed groove and was difficult to reinstall. It is unlikely that it would protect the product from rain or moisture damage.
There was a disk of bird calls and photos included with the camera. The photos would work on my computer but no instructions were found. One Word file was discovered but would not open."

Very Poor Quality,

"I purchased my camera for security reasons for my farm. The initial reason I bought it was for the night vision as well as the use of the photo card. Obviously the price is right as well. Here's the problems that I had: Does not have long battery life at all. I replace the batteries in mine every three days at least. If the batteries aren't fresh then the camera automatically turns off which defeats the purpose. The expense of buying batteries a few times a week definately make the longterm price of the camera anything but cheap. The flash only works about half the time.This camera was very hard to program as well. Even if you understand military time it doesn't matter. It didn't seem to turn on at all when it was supposed to. Mine has even stopped taking video altogether. I had hand painted mine to blend in better so unfortunately returning it isn't an option. The worst thing of all is that a crime was committed against my horses right in front of this camera and it never took a single picture. I will definately spend the money on a better camera next time. After you buy the batteries you could have anyway. This proves to me one thing, you get what you pay for."

"My first camera worked great for 3 months, got excellant photos day and night. Then the LCD stopped working, due to Cabelas excellant customer service they replaced it with a new one. Now the problems began with the replacement. The camera will actually turn itself off less than 24 hrs. The flash does not work consistantly. Having trouble with the motion sensor detecting. Thought teen degree temperature was shutting off the camera, brought it home out of the woods. Placed it in front of the kids rabbit hutch and with twenty degree warmer temperature it still turned itself off, and with constant monitering I noticed the other problems. The last time I downloaded the pictures it did not create a event file."

"This is the perfect camera for day time shots, but at night not at all. This camera during the night will miss shots because the flash only works 10% of the time. i have had deer pics that i could only see half of their body at a time. Noisy when takes flash also."

"I purchased this about a year ago. It worked great around the house when I tested it, but it is not reliable in cold weather and eats batteries overnight. It's the worst purchase I've made in a long time."

"I have tried to never change the password from the factory set numbers but I keep inadvertantly setting an unknow password and locking the thing up. It has been shipped in for repair (unlocking)3 times and is now locked up again. This time it will end up in the trash."

"I had very bad luck with this product. The first one i bought after leaving it in the woods for a week was full of water when i opened it. Second one will not take pictures. The only Bushnell product i've bought and liked was my range finder."
