"As soon as we can get our SECOND try at this camera boxed, it will be returned...first one had a problem with the on/off switch and second one says it has 7 pictures at all times and it will only have two..one switching it on and one switching it off...no pictures inbetween..even though food was eaten right in front of the camera..you can even walk in front of it and it will not take your picture...very disappointing..would not recommed purchasing it AT ALL."

"I just purchased a new Stealth Cam I590 and have used 2 sets of batteries in 1 week. The camera screen will lock up after taking 3 or 4 pictures and you have to remove all 8 batteries and reassemble them before it will work again. One night it only took 3 pictures before locking up and the next 2 nights it only took 2 pictures before locking up. I was watching 3 deer standing in front of the camera for a while, and it never took their pictures. I will return the camera as soon as I can get back to the store. I will try one more like this before totally writing them off."

"Camera took decent pictures but the trigger speed is slow. Got quite a few pictures with nothing or the rear of the animal. Even though the camera worked good I would not recommend buying a stealth cam product based on their extremely poor customer service. They have the worst customer service ever. Took my camera down for the winter last year and it wouldn't work with the 12V battery when I went to put it out this fall. This camera had been sitting in the house up until then. Would only work with C batteries. Called stealth cam and after 3 calls got them to take it back. It's been 5 weeks and still haven't gotten a new camera. It's impossible to get someone on the line because it is always busy when you call. Then once you are on the line they put you on hold for half and hour. I have called a few times to see if they had sent me a new camera and they told me that they hadn't even recorded my camera into their system as being returned. Just want to warn anyone in advance before they have to go through the same process."

"Takes great pictures, especially at night, very clear with great color. The trigger speed is a drawback, a little slow. If you set it up with that in mind it's a great camera. For the money its a good buy. I wanted a camera I could leave in the woods to do it's job, if it walked away, I'm only out $100 bucks."

"I read all the reviews before I purchased this camera, and I have got some of the best pictures anyone could ever ask for. The first week I got over 200 pictures of deer, 24 hrs around the clock. The second week the same. I am now on my third week and I haven't replaced any battires yet. I set my camera about 20 ft. away from my feeder and set the far and neer switch in the middle. I have good daylight and night time pics. as far out as 35 to 40 ft. I am Very happy I bought this camera. Good luck on yours and good hunting."

"At first I was a little worried because of a few of the other reviews I read about this trail cam but where I was putting them somebody stealing them was a real possibility so the price was the main factor for chosing the I590. Heck they are great. Crisp pix. The deer get used to the flash, guess they think they are lighting bugs? Much clearer than IR. Haven't tried video yet. No problem with batteries, going on 1000 pix on high resolution but where I live it's not real cold, that could effect bat life. I was impressed."

"If you rate a game camera by what counts, this is a great camera. Overall, it could be improved somewhat, but what really counts is VERY GOOD!
We have other Game Trail Cameras, (GTC). When a friend asked which one I would recommend, we set up a test in our back yard to compare the flash and picture quality.
I know there are other aspects of a camera that make a difference, but from what I understand and the way our family hunts, a very important aspect of the camera is the flash and picture quality.
We set up several paths that crossed in front of the cameras at increasingly distant locations. Since our yard, (Central Phoenix) is only 90' across, our farthest path was 85'. In the test, we only used one camera at a time and mounted them in the same location to help confirm results.
I didn't think there would be a big difference. I WAS WRONG!
Stealth Cam advertises a 90' flash range, which is quite an accomplishment. They don't lie, or even exaggerate!
If you saw the pictures, you would have no doubt who was best. At 85', you could see the person and the 8-1/2" x 11" sign marking the distance. It wasn't easy to make out, but when we hunt, we pop the SD card in a laptop to disseminate the photos. You have to zoom in to find clues about the animals that are showing up in the dark.
We hunt elk, which generally travel in herds. When a herd goes by, it's not in single file, they are feeding and meandering. If one animal triggers the camera, we want to see as much of the area as possible since there are probably more than one in the area.
For this situation and probably many others that want similar results, I confidently say that this GTC is hands down the best in it's price range. I have looked and never seen any others, even in the higher end GTC's that promote a 90' flash range.
All this good stuff and I only gave it 4 stars of 5 available. Well, compared to some of the other GTC's, this one is not terribly straight forward on the programming to set it up.
I was even more negative about the difficulty in setting it up until I saw how well it works. It depends on what you consider important for the rating. As I said before, If you rate a game camera by what counts, this is a great camera.

"This is our first IR game camera. We are thoroughly impressed with the IR540 since there is no flash to alert the animals that something is there.
We have photos out in the deep wilderness of deer that were almost nose-to-nose with the camera, elk that stood around just looking at things, people that walked by and didn't even know that the camera was there.
It's easy to mount if you take care with the strap and buckle that the strap slips through. Don't be rough with it since it's only plastic and it will last for a long time.
Make sure that you look carefully to your surroundings as to where you place the camera. If you leave it up for any length of time, consider the grass growth, tree branches hanging and anything else that may move slightly. The overall range of the camera is so great that many times a breeze will trip the camera to take pictures. Grass that has overgrown now trips the camera in a breeze, too.
We left the camera out in the wilderness for 30 days using energizer batteries. We were amazed that upon checking our camera, it had taken 258 pictures and still was taking more when we reached the camera. That meant that 30 days later, the batteries were still strong. We changed them out nonetheless and moved our camera to another spot for a different perspective.
Would we recommend this? You betcha...but we want to buy another before they all get bought up by the review readers.
Have fun with this camera, you'll be impressed. The ones that don't like it are the ones that don't pay attention to details such as surroundings, placement or take care in how they handle their equipment."

"Ordered 6 of the I590's last Fall. Had problems w/ 4 of the 6. Returned the 4 and then had problems w/ 3 of them. No nite pictures was one of the common problems and then trying to use an auxilliary 12v battery was the other main problem. It appears that as of May '09 , I finally have them all working.Good pics when they work. One other problem is the 90 day warranty- if you buy them and don't set them out for a month or so when you go to the deer camp and then don't get back for another month or so, Stealth might not exchange( talk to a supervisor). I own 7 other Stealth cameras also. Stealth does not seem to have a repair facility at there Texas location, so if your out of warranty, you might get stuck w/ a pile of non-functioning equip. I don't know how the other camera co. are though....."
