Works great...at first.,

"I'm ready to take my second solar panel back today. The first one worked great for about three weeks and then would only charge to 25% and it wouldn't take pictures at that charge. I exchanged it at Cabela's without a problem and have now been using the new one for about six weeks. It went from taking about 120 to 150 pictures on a full charge to the eleven it took last night. It said it was at full charge after two days in direct sunlight but I don't believe the reading. I'm trying one more time and then returning the solar panel and camera if I can't get them to work properly together."

"Was so excited to finally be able to cut the cost of replacing 6 D batteries every 3-weeks or so.Once I installed the unit came back a couple days latter, only to see that it was continuesly losing charge do to the fact I was not getting enough direct sun light. So unless your camera is in the middle of some field or in a very open area.I strongly recomend not waisting your money."

"Poor from opening package on.. No Adapter to hook to my 4.0 Moultrie cameras. Called Moultrie, they sent an adapter and it does not fit either. 45 minutes on the phone with Moultrie and it doesnt work!!"

"Connected the Power Panel to my camera the same day it arrived. It keeps 100% internal charge almost all the time. May drop some on extended periods of cloudy days. I can see the Power Panel will be saving me a lot of money on batteries. Great Product!"

"I have now had this for a few months. It is doing exactly what it suppose to do. I had a lot of days with rain and very little sun. I was concern to the battery level in the unit. Took a look and still had 74%, so my concerns to lack of sun light was addressed. To this date 7/26/09 it is still working just fine and saving me a lot of batteries and money. The battery in the solar unit says above 85% most of the time for me. I also live in the Southern Tier where we do not get a lot of sun every week. I am happy so far with this unit.
It's saving me money and that is why I bought the unit in the first place."

"I purchased the solar power panel based on good reviews and after speaking with a friend that had used a similar product. So far it has been operating at 100 percent efficiency if there are no clouds in the sky.
It is too early to tell how long it will help to make a set of 6 batteries last. At the price of D cell batteries, I am sure it will pay for itself in a short time. Night photography tends to eat batteries and cold weather is very bad on their service life."

"I have had my camera hooked up to the power pack for almost a month now and it still shows to have a fully charged set of batteries. Although some of the other reviews were not favorable, I chose to to order it anyway and I love it. My other cameras have to have the battery replaced every week. Thanks Cabela's for a great product."

"I have had this out in the field for about a month now. I had it out in the sun and worked well till the post I had it on fell over. I reset it up and letting it charge as it fell face down but the built in battery kept the camera running till I got to it last week (in use for 3 weeks). I am looking at setting up my other cameras with same or similar solar power systems. I am now using metal fence posts to set this up as it is easier to place and relocate when need be."

"I bought two power packs for my camera's. The adapter plug
will not make connection so they will not charge the batteries.
I have tried to call Moultrie 3 times also called Cabelas 3 times
Still have no answer for this problem."

"I had this on my IR 6.0 now for 6 weeks and am impressed on how it keeps my camera going without the need for batteries. I would give this 5 stars if you didn't have to try to keep this in full sunlight as much as possible. It does come with a long cord so you can mount the solar panel 10 feet or so away from the camera to get better sunlight (which is what I had to do)."

"I am happy with the four Moultrie Game Camera Power Pack that am using now because I don't have to think about four out of nine Mouitrie Cameras that I have on the lease. I know that we are going to catch all the game that came by. The others may still be working if I can get there regular. But If I can't make the 400 mile trip five of my cameras won't be working and who knows what passed by. I am putting funds aside to add Moultrie Game Camera Power Packs to all of my game cameras. Happy in Texas."

"I have had this power pack in direct sun for 3 days now and have only achieved an 80% charge. The area for which I am charging this is at my house which is free from any obstruction and receives the eastern sun in the morning through to the western sun until it sets. If this product can not achieve a full 100% charge under these conditions, I question how this will charge my batteries in a wooded enviornment."

"I have three of these hooked up with the Moultrie i40's! They make a great addition to already fantastic i40 camera. I have a $400 Leaf River and 4 Wildview Xtreme2 cameras and all have flaws in my humble opinion. This combo is as good as it gets... Year round power so no battery changing (i have a unit that is going on 5 months of error free operation. Took 1714 pics in 45 days. Highly recomend this. Buy the metal protective case for the camera and your set!"
