"It's a great light. Unlike most of the posters, I typically am looking for VERY little light. I only need a light for low natural light situations (last legal hour). If the light is too bright, my pins glows to the point I can't see the deer! This light is the only light I have seen that solves that. I rarely use more than the lowest setting with todays light gathering pin fibers (copper john). However, if you need brighter... there are many more brighter steps. BTW it does fit the copper John... you just need the bracket from CJ. No worries."

"Sight light works great, but it got turned on in my case and I went to 7 stores, called even more and could not get the 373 batterys (3). Went back to cabelas and bought a tru glo, batteries are easily available"

Disappointing sight light,July 12, 2009

"I was highly disappointed in this light. I expected better from a quality manufacturer like G5.
1.)The light is not that bright, despite the multiple rheostat settings, especially when compared to others on the market I have use, most of which cost less.
2.)The universal fit design did NOT fit the sight I intended to use it with (Copper John), despite what Cabelas and the product packaging state; the threads were the wrong size to attach to the sight.
3.) I also was dismayed by the use of aluminum for the light's housing, as it got damaged when attaching it to the sight (the second one I tried it on) despite using padding on the jaws of the pliers. I would have liked to have seen the sight's housing made of steel or brass, like some others I have tried, and instead of being knurled for hand-threading it into place, have some flat surfaces for using a wrench to attach it.
4.) I also didn't like the basic design of the light, as it seemed very easy for the light to come apart, and the manner in which the batteries are carried in it would cause them to not only fall out, but pushed out by the tension spring, shooting them out to who knows where. In fact, when I first changed the "universal" housing, that's what happened.
In all, I would not recommend this light to other users."

"This is THE sight light to purchase! The rheostat allows you to set just the right amount of power to light up your fiber optic pins during low-light times. I generally set it on #1 so as to not block out the target as the sun starts to set."

"This light has several settings, i find i like the brightest one the best. The old light kit for the g5 was noisy when it wasnt turned on which caused me to have to turn it on every time i shot at a deer and even during practice cause it annoys while your shooting. Which in turns leads to purchasing several batteries. The new one is great it is a little bulkier but not bad. You can adjust the intensity of the light and it is quiet wether its on or not. Definately upgrade it makes me realize how bad the old design was."
