targetmasters,
October 21, 2009
By targetmasters

"I purchased a bunch of 1911 mags of supposed good quality to see which worked best. Wilson Combat mags work great with no problems. I'm shooting 3 types of 1911's:
Old 1918 manufacture Colt with custom mods. Argentine Colt "Sistema" 1927 manuf. 2009 Kimber Tactical Custom II
I am a target shooter.
I've tried bargain basement mags and they are hard to load and jam on occasion. Eventually they crack.
My three faves are Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick, Kimber. In that order.
The new Wilson Combat "ETM" mags are the best in my experience. They solved some of the older problems of the earlier Wilson Combat mags. Such as trying to load a full 8 rd. mag into a gun with the slide closed. You cant do that with the old one(It won't lock in place).
I have yet to have a malfunction with a Wilson Combat mag.
Just my own experience....but I'm sure you'll agree once you try a Wilson mag."

Best "Bang" for the buck,

By armedflyer

"I have put about 300 rounds through each of the 3 Wilson Combat Magazines I purchased in my Kimber without a problem. You can buy more expensive 1911 magazines but I doubt they would function any better than these. Very good quality for the price."

"I own a number of 1911's. These things simply work. With any ammo in a number of 1911's, including my Sig. Don't mess with the other offerings if you depend upon reliability. I could not give them a higher recommendation."

Typical Wilson Excellence,
May 6, 2009
By bwheel

"If your life may depend on your 1911 functioning all the time/every time, I suggest you use the best mags made- and these are it. I think Baer may build a better gun than Wilson, and that's why I carry a Baer- but with Wilson mags in it! You'll forget how much you spent on these when you know you don't have to worry (ever) about a mag related problem with your gun."

Wilson ETM 45 acp 8 round Magazines,
December 6, 2008
By IdahoBrad
from Idaho
|
"I have 4 new ETM 45 acp mags and I have always used Wilson Mags in all my 1911s. I have to tell that IMO the new ETM mags are not equal to the Wilson 47D mags. The ETM mags are no where near as smooth feeding as the 47Ds. They functioned at the range, but I really like how smooth all my 47D 8 round and older 7 round mags load and unload. I was impressed with the extensive write-up on the Wilson website and love my 47Ds, so when Wilson claimed they were a major improvement, I could't wait to try them. I am sure dissappointed in them and felt obligated to provide my opinion. I feel the claims Wilson is making are misleading in the area of smoothness and slick follower. Wilson does make the BEST mags IMO, but the Best is the 47D not the ETM."

BUY THEM,
March 22, 2008
By tactical
from Huntington, WV
|
"Have a Kimber Tactical II. The mag that came with it functioned fine but felt tight and only held 7 rounds. The Wilson Combat ETM mags seem to fit better, held 8 rounds and are easier to load. Not any harder to put the 8th round in than the first. Have put several hundred rounds through them with zero problems. Bought 2 and plan on buying 3 more. A little pricey but well worth it once you use them."

Wilson Combat High Capacity Magazines,
December 30, 2007
By BlueSix
|
"I ordered four Wilson Combat 8-round magazines in preparation for my last tour in Iraq. During prior tours in Iraq and elsewhere, I always felt as though the standard Colt magazine was the weakest part of the weapon, particularly when using a hollow point round or other "special" ammunition at a high rate of fire. I could expect an average of one malfunction per 100 rounds of stress shooting. I estimate that I have now fired approximately 2,000 rounds through my Government Model 1911 using the Wilson magazines. Many of these shots were in actual combat, using ammunition other than standard ball, and I have not suffered a single magazine-related malfunction. My entire team now uses Wilson Combat magazines exclusively, and I have just ordered a fifth from Cabela's. I know that as long as a Wilson Combat magazine is feeding my 1911, it will not let me down."

"Reliable and has 10 rounds of capacity. While it's a bit ugly inside my Kimber, hanging down quite a bit, it adds capacity at the range and doesn't feel overly heavy or unweildy. Dead reliable feeding."
