windshield for ranger,

"I thought that the Trail Tamer was built strong and looks like it will last. I have a roof on my polaris ranger and the upper part of the windshield does not reach to it. It needs to be about three to four inches longer to cover the entire viewing area and would stop weather getting in. That's only reason why I gave it four stars intead of five. I like it!"

Trail Tamer UTV Delux Folding Windshield,

"Poor quality plastic (scratches VERY easy). After being carefully cleaned, it was scratched using a clean cotton cloth to dry it. Also a 1/2 inch twig fell out of a green poupel tree and left a very bad scratch, almost a gouge in it.
Hinge and blacked out lower portion drastically limits up front visibility.
Fit over center of cowl very poor. About 1 1/4 inch clearence.
Advertising does not indicate whethern lower part flips up or the larger upper part folds down.
Retaining clamps holding upper part up require 2 people to release to lower wind shield or snap it back in upper position.
It is quite possible that some operators do not have the strength in thier hands to flex the clamps enough to seccure the wildshield back to the upper position.
Directions indicate that the vehicle should have the upper portion of the winshield in down position while trailering because it is not designed to with stand highway speeds, the Rhino and several other UTV's are very capable of highway speeds on thier own!!----
Altogether, the quality is not good and has several design flaws.
Piano hing appears to be very durable."

UTV Folding Windshield for '08 Ranger XP,

"Overall, I like how the windshield works, but was highly dissappointed that the top of the windshield is 5" below the top of the roll bar. I have the sport canopy on my Ranger and the windshield needs to be 2 1/2" taller to block most wind and rain from coming in between the windshield and roof and still fold without interferring with the roof canopy.
I modified the windshield to fit porperly by adding a 2 1/2" spacer in the hinge part of the windshield. Cabela's needs to make the windshield taller and also include an additional piece to cover the very top of the roll cage just under the roof so that wind and rain does not blow in your face.
I would recommend this product, but you should be willing to alter the product to fit your exact needs and roof type."

"I'm very disappointed with this product from Cabelas. The item description states you can still access the front compartment on a mule. The description doesn't state that in order to do this the windshield must be mounted so it will not fold. The description is misleading on this item and the shipping to recieve the item and send it back is substaintial. Also the mounting brackets do not fit the cage properly so the windshield keeps settling down onto the hood. I would not reccomend this item."

"the windshield did not fit very well the clamps were too small for the frame rails, the rivits came out and I put a screw in its place ,the holes in the windshield , had to be redrilled and the bumpers on the top of it did not stay and to be glued with weather strip cement , the instructions were worthless, once on it totally blocked the storage in the front, bo;ts for the clamps were too short,"

poor fit on a Mule,

"The product is of high quality however in my installation on a 2008 610 Mule, the supplied brackets (clamps)were not big enough for the roll cage tubing. This also makes the bolts to be too short. The notches on the edge of the windshield are not far enough out to the edge to install the clamps properly. In my case what I did not realise is that you have to make the top section permantly fastened if you want to open the bottom section and you want access to the storage compartment. You won't ever be able to open the top without re-mounting the windshield. The description said that compartment access was allowed but it didn't say that you can not open the top section to get air. When you open up the bottom section, there is no way to secure it up plus if you did figure how to prop it up, they tinted it so you can't see thru it. Last, the installation instructions were very generic and did not apply to my model. Good product, bad design and hardware. We had to modify and use our own hardware. Come summer, we will take it off for some air. You may not have the same problems on a diffent type of UTV."

"great windsheild, the rubber holders are a little tight to get on and off, but they keep the windsheild tigher to the machine keeping it from rattling unlike the other folding ones i have seen, overall im pleased with it and cant complain."

"Installed on my 2009 Mule 4010 Trans. Application was not available for the 4010 yet, so I ordered the winshield for the 3010. I had to do some trimming on the bottom and drill new mounting holes on the windshield, but otherwise works great and performs as advertised. Be sure to follow the directions and leave a 1/2" gap at the bottom, otherwise vibration will rub the paint off of your hood. I highly recommend this product for the Mules, as the hinged design allows full access to the underhood storage compartment."

"I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this windshield, but I did know by ordering it from Cabellas that it must be pretty good. It was easy to install and made of high quality materials. What a great deturent from the wind and rain. If you own a UTV then this product is a must!
It is a grate product made of strong materials that will hold up to the roughest weather."
