Altimeter works,

"I mounted it on my windshield and the device seemed quite accurate. It is certainly sensitive to changes in altitude--and seems accurate within its tolerances. It's fun to use and adds to the excitement of travel. Now, if I can figure out how to adjust it I'd be even happier."

"The Altimeter is fun to use. It would be better if the controls were not all on one button. It takes practice and care to set it each time it is used ( to adjust for change in barometric pressure changes from day to day)."

"This unit is +/- 100 feet at best and does need to be set to a known elevation to work properly. If you go long distances you'll need to reset to a known elevation everyday. Also, to see the numbers you have to press a button although once pressed it stays on for several minutes and does go up or down as your vehicle moves. For what it cost I thought it could be better but I guess true mountaineering altimeters cost a couple hundred bucks."

"I was amazed at the light weight quality. For the car, I would like something with a little more heft to it. Perhaps backpackers would really appreciate this quality though. I would also like for it to not turn off automatically every ten minutes! Have to keep turning it on when headed up in to the mountains.
I am questioning how long this product will hold up due to the light weight but maybe that is just my take on it and it will do great. Directions a little vague and took some figuring out."

"Worked well once I replaced the nearly dead battery it came with.
I wish that it were easier to adjust the altitude reading more easily than having to re-input all the digits.
Also, I could do without the auto-cutoff based on time. I had one that based it on no significant change in altitude over a period of time."

"This unit has pretty poor instructions, but basically it will not hold the calibration (frequently resets to default, 19,999 ft) and, it will not reflect dynamic changes in actual elevation during travel when it is calibrated to a starting altitude. I was very disappointed by this result at this price, as the size of the unit and clarity of the display were just what I was looking for. As a side note, the Velco pad was not sufficiently sticky, it falls off the dash in hot weather (Arizona)."
