"I bought the power programmerand experimented with it on all three stages. I found the biggest difference was with Stage 2, with it the fuel milage seemed to increase and the power was definately more. I called Hypertech on the programming and they were very helpful but the cd that comes with it is of very little help."

Hypertech for 6.0 diesel,August 18, 2009

"I tried to install and was asked to upgrade on the internet. Went to the internet and was told that my engine has a setting not currently supported by Hypertech and that I would be informed by email sometime in the future if they ever support it. I'm sending it back for a credit."

OK,July 24, 2009

"So far the programmer has been OK. I used it to increase mileage. As a side benefit, the transmission shift firmness fixed the "hunting” I experienced. It is a bit early to tell about fuel mileage, but there is some increase (less than 1 mpg so far). The low end power is not too apparent, but the top end is impressive. The power is very smooth."

Easy to Program,May 14, 2008

"I have a 2007 GMC Sierra SLT Crew Cab with the 5.3 engine. When I purchased the truck new I had the dealer install the GMC performance air intake and the performance catback exhaust with the single outlet. I am sure this has added performance and fuel economy. I now have about 8000 miles on the vehicle and I think I am getting about 1 MPG more on the highway since I have installed the Hypertech program. I haven't used it around town long enough to tell if that mileage has improved. I programed it with regular gas and didn't change any of the shift points or firmness. I am sure that I have better performance than the stock engine in both horsepower and MPG. When I have it serviced all of the people at the GMC dealership want to drive it. Not for the day but, for a month. I just returned from a vacation trip of almost 1900 miles where I drove around the West and went over numerous passes and did some driving in snow for several hours with it and out of 4 wheel drive. For the trip I averaged 19.28 MPG. I have found that with the 4 speed transmision if I cruise at about 65 MPH and it will stay in the 4 CYL mode the most time and on fairly level terrain I am averaging above 20 MPG. I believe that I could get at least 21 MPG with these conditions on flat roads which I don't see much in Colorado."
