"This is an excellent product; quite attractive and easy to assemble. I caution those interested to note that the on/off switch is a pressure switch IN THE CORD and sits on the floor. This posed a problem, as it was not close to the base of the lamp and would have been difficult to reach if used where I intended to place the lamp. I put the lamp in another room and will purchase a different lamp for the intended location."

"The aesthetic look of this lamp is great, but the functional design falls short. The shade leaves the bulb exposed and when you're sitting on the sofa, the light bulb is level with your eyes. The glare is uncomfortable (and that's with a 60-watt bulb). We're going to try to replace the glass with frosted glass, to minimize the glare. This lamp would only work in a room where you're not going to be sitting down, or where the lamp is behind you and not visible."

"This lamp was cumbersome to put together. While trying to tighten the screws to lock in the glass cover one of the rivets that holds the screw fell out and I also had a screw strip. The overall presentation of the lamp looks nice but quality suffers. I should have sent it back."

"Found this lamp to be all that not only it claimed to be, but also just what we were looking for. It goes nicely with our Arts and Crafts furniture and had no problems with it's construction, it's a lamp, not a hiking staff! I would certainly recommend to others wanting the "handsomely rugged" look in a functional floor lamp."

"The lamp was extremely easy to put together. I don't particularly like the foot button on/off switch. We use it as a reading lamp next to a recliner, and the foot button ends up in a spot that is hard to access with a foot."

"I love this lamp. I purchased the weathered copper and it really is a unique, attractive addition. I was pleasantly surprised that it is so well made. We have the lodge decor thing going on and this light is truly stunning in that setting. Everyone that visits comments on it and inquires where it was purchased. One reviewer said that hers turned green in spots and another said that theirs was poorly made, but I must say that neither of those things were true with the one I received. I am thinking of buying a couple more plus the table lamp that matches!"

"We purchased this lamp as a reading lamp for our living room. While we do not have a "formal" living room, we also do not have a log cabin.
The oxidation on the lamp turned it spotchy green - it was shown in the catalog as a bronzy color - perfect for what we needed.
I can't even imagine putting this in a hunting cabin. The quality was extremely poor."

Worst product I've purchased from Cabelas,October 29, 2008

"I purchased this floor lamp based on other reviews. I assembled the lamp, but the "shaft" turned and turned - in other words, the threads didn't engage. So, the top of the lamp sits loosely and off-center (I used pipe tape). THEN, the ferrels holding the screws to secure the globe weren't fixed - in short, the screws and ferrels both spun resulting in no way to hold the globe in place (I glued the ferrels in place). Lastly, the floor switch doesn't sit flat, just enough to make me completely annoyed....strike three!"
