Really compact but with problems, September 18, 2009

"I normally spend 5~6 months each summer cross country touring on my Harley...I don't eat in restaurants or sleep in motels. I just bought a motorcycle pull-behind trailer which meant I could go with a better (bigger) propane stove and add the [unmitigated luxury] of a cot to sleep on and a chair to sit in. The Fold-N-Go™ stove is certainly superior to what I was using (a single burner element that screws to the top of a propane bottle). However, the Fold-N-Go™ stove has two problems:

1. Zero resistance to wind (even a slight breeze makes it really difficult to cook on). I've decided to construct a folding wind break for use on next summer's tour.

2. There is something wrong with the burner controls...it is really difficult to adjust flame height and usually any attempt to do so simply shuts off the flame entirely and you have to re-light the burner and try again (really frustrating).

Bottom line...if you really need the added cooking area and are extremely short on luggage storage area go ahead and buy it. Else look for a different solution."

Great Portable Stove, August 31, 2008

"Bought this stove looking for convenience for larger groups. I have used it at several scout day trip outings and will be taking it to a base camp where we have to walk our gear in. This stove hits the spot. I was able to keep our group of 15 supplied with coffee and hot choclate all day on 1 1/2 small propane cylinders. The size and convenience was perfect for the events. The optional carry bag is the perfect addition, making transport easy and storage of 2 propane cylinders a snap.
One word to the wise- If you have a breeze, you will need to create a wind shield or you will lose a lot of your cooking heat."

"A bit heavy, imo, for the backpack, but perfect for the tailgate, or for living quarters. Neatly folds up into a self-contained package. May be attached either to 16.4 oz propane cannisters or 5 gallon or larger tanks. The grill tops are huge - larger in circumference than standard stove-top coils, copious. The burners are powerful and can be smoothly adjusted through a range of medium to low flame. The unit is solidly constructed and the design is current state of the art for large portable stoves."

Purse stove, May 20, 2008

"I bought this stove over a year ago, and I absolutely love it. It folds compact, and I can fit it in my backpack, and I never have to carry around soggy matches. Two of my fellow camping friends bought it, after seeing mine, gone are the days of our old box coleman stoves. Am glad it's Coleman, I can always trust their products."
