Great Stove !!!!!,August 17, 2009
By Sailboat40from Torrance,CA
"I received the stove promtly from Cabela's. I have a VW bus that i mounted the stove in and the stove works great. I have not used the oven which is much larger that expected. The oven is large and you could cook a 5 lb canned ham in it very easialy. I am looking forward too make a loaf of bread the next time i go camping.
Thanks Cabela's Greg"

Can't beat it,August 15, 2009
By oritgreyskullfrom Lovettsville, VA
"Well enough said you just can't beat it. Bought this oven to take on our annual week long camping trip at a bluegrass festival. Haven't even gone yet but allready love this oven. Just finished makeing fried chicken, hand cut fries, and baked a pie all at the same time. Did upgrade to a four gallon propane tank. With both burners and the oven at 425 it really did not get that hot. The only thing with the oven is to keep an eye on the temp which is easy. Get the temp where you want it by turning up the gas only half way and letting it rise slowly. When it gets to where you want just turn the gas all the way down. It will for the most part just stay there. When it starts to rise by about 5 degrees just crack the door for a minute or so and let it go down. Just make sure you keep an eye on it. The burners act just like regular burners and do what they are supposed to. All in all its a shame I will use this only once a year but it should last a lifetime. Nothing better than a fresh baked pie while camping. I do recommend the extra carrying/storage bag for covenience. Great product, I love it."

recessed handles,August 10, 2009
By ruble1from baltimore, maryland
"I'm very happy with the overall product but all the pictures i looked at before buying shows recessed handles at the top of the oven. Mine does not have these handles so i have to wait for the unit to cool down before i can move it. I don't understand why the recessed handles are not there.
I'M CONFUSED"

pretty good,July 7, 2009
By Mapc
"We love the unit but the regulator that came with it leaks badly and we had to replace it. The stove top is very hot and heats evenly and quickly. You really can cook anything. The oven is fine for most things tho really high temp items are challenging to cook well."

chef ahead,June 16, 2009
By camper09from watertown massachussets
"Pros: • Well manufactured • Works as specified • Excellent burner output • Good self start repeatability • Tolerable weight for its intended use • Good oven visibility • Good oven insulation , it does not transfer too much heat to surroundings • Appropriate bag but the zipper could be a little bit stronger
Cons: • Thermometer gets in the way if using both trays and is not visible if put in one side • Significant temperature drop from bottom to top if two trays are used, as the first shields the other one. I solved using a bottom insulate cooking sheet as the lower to avoid burning while baking. • I could not find an exact tray for the oven although a standard one can be adapted bending the edges as I did. The manufacturer could offer custom made trays as an accessory • Handles are just right but tend to slip out of the carrier’s fingers"

Best product for camping since propane.,May 12, 2009
By Dukfishfrom Novato, Ca.
"I read about this and had to have one. As soon as I got it home I mounted a bottle and prepared a test for it. First I lit the two burners on top to full. Very impressive lighter. With the two burners going on high I lit the oven and timed it to see how long it would take to get to temp with a full demand on the fuel. Very impressive 15 min. and it was at 425 F. I knew this because it comes with an accurate therm. I then baked a whole giant potatoe and later added pork chops in there. while that was finishing up I steamed broccoli on the stove. This tasty dish took about an hr. to cook. The outside of the oven stays relatively cool except for the rear, but they add warnings about this. Great gift idea"

Envy of All Who See It,January 11, 2009
By Aristarchusfrom Renton, WA, Pacific Northwest
"I have a reputation for cool classy camp products. Each year I set up my 12x20 Alaknak with Vestibule on the annual 5 day Big Foot Soccer Tournament in Snohomish Washington. This is a big event, around 6000 people, 200 campers. I had this stove sitting out on my Deluxe camp kitchen and had more people in awe over my "stainless" Camp Chef Outdoor Camp Oven. It is fabulous. Heats up fast, and yes you can burn both burners and the oven at the same time. I made waffles at home, froze them, then had them for breakfast after heating in the oven. Well made unit. I have a hose adapter running from a propane tank split to my Big Buddy Heater in the tent. Use this outside only, do not use in an RV or tent. Nice metal cover for stowage, good case for carrying. Chrome finish is awesome. Great experience with this product and fun to use in the bush."

Oven,October 14, 2008
By 6coyote
"I recently perchased this item and went elk hunting. It worked flawlessly. I cooked meals in the oven while boiling water on the top burners. The oven heated to 400 degrees. Just bring along all frozen meals like a family size lasagna or pasta meal, heat and eat same as the oven in your house! 5 stars all the way. 6coyote"

Perfect little oven,October 6, 2008
By bowtech40
"I had an Outback oven before this and had problems with burners fluttering and going out. The camp chef seems to work perfectly, although I have only had the chance to use it once. When deer camp opens, it will be used daily."

Camp Chef Outdoor Camp Oven,September 9, 2008
By Bevo2
"I wanted something for emergency power outages so this oven and burner caught my eye. Thank goodness someone had previously posted a positive review. I have been very pleased with the unit. I baked cornbread in a cast iron skillet the 1st time . I learned alot. It's not like a regular oven where you put it in and forget about it. You need to moniter the temp. continiously. The glass door works great for viewing the temp gauge hanging on the oven rack. The temp rises rapidly, and then you turn the knob way down to hold the ideal temp. Takes some practice. I haven't used the burners yet. They are quite large and I'm sure they will be fine. Easy set up . No tools needed, and the fuel tank and regulator go on by hand. What's great is you can get the fuel tanks almost anywhere. The only thing you will need to do is protect the glass and maybe get the travel bag. And maybe add some different carrying handles. The unit is pretty heavy for the little groves on the side , you can only get your fingers barely in the slot. Can't recommend more you will love it!"

Camp Chef Oven,June 29, 2008
By MEV1from Show Low, Arizona
"I received my Camp Chef oven 3 days ago. I first baked a meatloaf, since I thought I couldn't go wrong using a meat thermometer. The oven did exactly what I wanted it to do! The meat loaf was wonderful, though it took longer to cook than in my electric oven. The next day I baked a 9x13 pan of lasagna. Now I'm really sold on this oven. Not only did the oven heat evenly, (I used a ceramic tile) but the cheese was melted evenly and golden brown over the whole pan.
I wondered it you could really use the burners while the oven was baking, but I didn't notice any heat escaping around the oven and I even slid my hand under the oven to see if the table would be scorched. My hand was never too warm for comfort. I live full-time in an RV, spending the summers in the mountains of Arizona. It is a treat to be able to bake outside and not heat up the interior of the coach during our hot summers. Congratulations on a great product."
