Smooth, accurate and efficient – Black Ice makes you the apex predator in your territory. The brace height is a forgiving 7-1/2" and a 32" axle-to-axle length makes this bow highly maneuverable. At just 4.1 lbs., it's a joy to carry. It launches arrows up to an air-shredding 318 fps, and adjustable let-off from 65% to 80% helps make the tough shots seem routine. Diamond Archery's smooth Pinnacle4 Cam has redesigned modules with an extended backside to promote draw consistency. These longer modules also allow you to custom adjust the draw post and tunable valley. The new design's optimized center cam mass placement reduces shock and noise on release, increasing stealth and accuracy. The Black Ice bow incorporates 12" solid limbs and a 53° beyond-parallel limb configuration. This setup maximizes stored energy transferred to the arrow, while decreasing shock and vibration that can compromise accuracy. A slender, two-piece grip, machined shelf trough and thumb groove, work to further increase stability.
    Available: Right-hand, Left-hand.
Camo pattern: Realtree Hardwoods HD® Grey.

    Black Ice, August 25, 2009
    By PinkCondor from Tyler, Texas

"I bought my Black Ice Bow in 08. It is the best bow I have ever owned. I can hit a quarter with it at 15 yards when I do my part. The pull feels more like 55 pounds rather than seventy. It makes virtually no noise. Works really well with a G5 Optix sight. Incredibly accurate, especially for a short bow."

Best bow out there!, August 15, 2009
    By ratjon from Bastrop, TX

"I realize that the Diamond Black Ice for 2009 is a reworked 2007 model, but I researched a lot of bows, pulled and shoot all the current models, including the Diamond Iceman, and frankly, the Black Ice was smoother, quieter, and shot better than all of them. My groups at 15 yards are under an inch, my twenty yard groups are under two inches, and I am getting under four inch groups at 40 yards. The only sound I hear is the "thud" as the arrow hits the target. I haven't found anything that is wrong with this bow. It is worth every penny. Save yourself a $100 or more and buy this model over the Iceman or any other brand--you won't be disappointed."

    Still a top bow, March 9, 2009
    By jcc1978 from Jerseyville, IL

"I purchased the bow 2 years ago and its still my top choice. I have spent >25 days a year bowhunting for the last 15 years and have also been competing at 3D and field shoots for as long. I have been through several brands and bows over that time period. I like to stay up to date on bow tech with new bows...besides a new bow keeps the interest. I have spent the last 2 months trying to replace the black ice. No luck yet, I still like the black ice the best. The biggest problems that I have had with the bow include that its "hush kit" falls apart after about 200 shots. I replaced it with Limbsavers and works good now. In 2007, the cable slide was recalled. Mine broke, but was replaced for free and works fine now. Everything else is great. The 7.5 inch brace height makes this bow easy to shoot good. It is a little slower than the 2009 bows, but the ease of shooting consistently outweighs speed. This was also the first bow that I shot with parallel limbs. I will never go back now that I have experenced zero hand shock. On top of everything else, you can get this bow from $100-$200 dollars cheaper than other top of the line brands. Definitely a good purchase."

    decent, March 2, 2009
    By Bassmen from Sparta tennessee

"this is a bow that most any bow hunter would love to shot and I studied every bow that is on the market before I decided to make my investment.I love this bow the bow shoots ever good and is very quiet. The only couple of down sides of this is if you get the packet like i did the hushing kit work great but the silencers do fall apart and I have the Hostage arrow rest and that is the worse rest, not only can you not hit a barn with it you can not hardly find the replacements for it so you are suck with a horrible rest. The Arrow quiver is like trying to but a cannon on a tank and it is impossible to get is off because it snacks on and off and the guards on it break like a clay piegon. All in all do buy the bow just don't get the packet."

    Great Bow, December 15, 2008
By LuckyLuke from Kansas City, KS

"I went in looking for a Marquis but am glad I went with the Black Ice. Great bow and I couldn't be happier. Shot a couple of the higher end bows like Matthew and Hoyt before I got this and like the Black Ice better. Any seasoned bow hunter will tell you to avoid the hype and get what feels the best to you. This is what felt the best to me but I recomend everybody give as many bows as possible a shot before deciding. I wish Cabela's carried some more higher end brands so that customers could shot them along with the Black Ice. I think it would help them sell a lot more Diamond Bows."

cable guard placement, November 27, 2008
    By CErtmer from Apple River,IL

"This bow has already helped me harvest 4 nice deer this fall so far. I noticed after all the shots I had taken, all the other deer in the area had not heard the shot. So that shows me that this bow is quiet. However, maybe it's my fault for not checking, but it seems the cable guard is very close to the arrows while nocked. This bow is tuned in and shoots fantastic, but my feathers actually get rubbed against the string during drawback. You need to make sure to have small enough fletchings or feathers so they don't make contact. Possibly, I'm over-analyzing, but it has been noticed, and will be fixed."

    Black Ice, November 13, 2008
    By JackWR from Spokane Washington

"Bought the bow because I have heard it draws easy. I have a Hoyt cybertec that I use. The bowtec was slow, noisy, and inconstistant. I shoot a lot of 3D shoots and am an experienced hunter and good shot. Glad I purchased it from Cabelas because they gave me a 100% refund two days later when I returned it."

"I shot alot of bows with very similar speeds, brace heights, draw weights, axle to axle and so on. This bow felt right immediately, it was super quiet and super fast. my groups were tight and that was a beaten up pro shop bow, not set exactly for me. I shot all the big names but nothing stacked up on every single thing i wanted in a bow like the Black Ice"

make sure of correct draw length, October 26, 2008
    By Anonymous from Western NC

"To start with let me say that the black ice is a great bow. However in the ordering process there is not an option to specify a correct draw length, so now I am in the process of replacing the draw length module because the bow which I thought was someway adjustable requires a new module to correct the draw length. I checked with Diamond Archery to confirm this. I am disappointed Cabela's did not make this clear or offer an option of draw length in the order process."

Really nice bow, October 10, 2008
    By riflebowhunter from Bedford, WY

"It's a really nice bow for the price. It's fast, accurate, and quiet. I think it's a relly good bow for eneyone. It is really light weight wise to. My thoughts are if your looking for a good easy to pack and weight wise, fast, accurate and quiet this would be an excellent bow."

Black Ice Is Outstanding!, September 24, 2008
    By takeayoungnhuntn

"I was able to purchase a black ice in late 07 and quickly became a much better archer than I ever thought I could be. This bow has an adjustable valley with a draw stop which has helped my form tremendously. The bow also draws smoother and more easily than any other bow that I've ever drawn at the same draw weight. The short axle to axle is perfect for treestand and ground blind hunting!! Over all I couldn't be more pleased with the performance of my black ice. In my book I will give it a definate 5 out of 5. Keep up the good work diamond and thanks for helping me regain my confidence for archery hunting!!!"

Nothing is sweeter than the Black Ice, September 2, 2008
    By Getdis07 from Laramie,Wy

"I bought the Black Ice before my 2007 hunting season and I have been able to enjoy this bow for a full year now....and all I can say is you cant beat this bow. If you read these other reviews about guys saying how smooth, quiet and consistent this bow is, I'm right there with them. I tried out a lot of bows before purchasing the Ice and I still enjoy going to bow shops and checking out the new ones that are coming into the market. But like my title says...nothing is sweeter than the Black Ice. I think this bow will be around for a long time. The only other bow I would give up my Ice for is if Diamond decides to add a roller gaurd to the Black Ice. If you want a light, smooth, quiet, consistent bow, the Black Ice is it!"

    "shot 20 shots from each...
    mathews

    diamond
diamond, was quiet, smooth draw, fast, and accurate.
grip is narrow and easy to hold, bow is compact and easy to manuver from a tree stand.
the mathews was very similar in many ways, but cost $100 more...if they were the same price it would be a very difficult choice, however this is great.

    A Great Bow, August 21, 2008
By Fastbanshee from Ft. Worth Texas

"After shooting a Bear Instinct I moved up to the Black Ice....which feels like an extension of my hand. I was very impressed of how light and rigid it feels. Low noise and silky smooth me an instant owner....this is a bow that I never get tired of shooting. And thanks to the staff in archery at the Ft. Worth Cabela's (Cody and Eddie) for the profesional set-up and time to make it perfect."
