"I have been buying these for 14 or 15 years since they were recommeded by my podiatrist. The design has change some. They are one of the few that work well with my prescription orthotics. I also like the hook and loop fasteners. My future bride says they are the ugliest shoes she's ever seen but what is beauty compared to comfort!"

"I now have eight pairs of New Balance 574, 575, and 576 shoes. The older ones are now fishing shoes, the newest ones are for nice occasions. The in-between 4 pairs are everyday wear. I try never to wear the same ones two days straight.
Here's the thing: I can't wear them out, nor do they rot. They just get grubby until I buy new ones. And Cabela's price is usually the best out there.
The hook and loop fasteners system is the slickest thing yet for us old guys who have trouble bending and flexing. Just prop a foot up on something, grab the strap, and just like that you are ready to go.
I still have several pairs of lace up shoes and boots which hardly ever get worn. Some are just about new.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it."

"This is my second pair of New Balance 576 Hook & Loop fastener walking shoes. They are great. Only reason I needed new ones is that I wore the first pair out as they were my favorite foot wear. I can't find 91/2 EE size in most stores so I always have to order online. Cabela's service was swift and accurate."
