Due to a new CSA regulation, all turkey fryers built after July 2007 will be equipped with a safety shut-off timer. The timer will shut off the gas supply after a preset time period unless the user manually resets it.

"The only thing that isnt good with this product is that there is a timer that will shut off gas in 15 mins unless reset. this isnt even long enough to boil a water never mine cook a turkey. IF you are entertaining a good about of people and your busy this really becomes a pain in in the butt if you forget to reset the gas shut off timer.THIS PRODUCT should have A TIMER that the person doing the cooking could set at thier dersire time that they would like the gas to shut off instead of a peset time.This would make this product a 100 times better!!"

"We purchased this cooker for our Thanksgiving Turkey, and it worked wonderfully. I was a bit annoyed at the timer going off every 15 minutes, but then realized this was actually great because it meant we stayed with the Turkey and made sure the oil didn't get too hot or too cool.
I LOVE the fact that you can drain the oil out of a spigot on the bottom (and don't have to use messy pumps or try and balance the pot while pouring through a funnel or strainer), and the pot itself is very easy to clean (except the bottom's burn marks, which are expected).
The stand and burner system were very easy to set up, and the only thing I would say is that the paint on the stand burns off, but that is expected as well (after all, it IS in the flame).
We also got a very useful instruction manual with recipes included, which we're going to try when we can.
All and all a GREAT product, and I would recommend it to anyone for deep frying (we're doing a prime rib this weekend!)"

"This is the first Cabelas product that I have ever had that I was totally disappointed in. The burner is pretty good..but the pot is very poor quality...very light....I'm afraid to put on the burner because it will probably melt....."
