Dollar Bills!!!!!!!!,August 18, 2009
By MattRapidCityfrom Rapid City, SD
"This GPS is money. Hands down the best one i test drove before buying. Have used extensively in the field and love it. No smudging the screen with dirty hands on the touch screeen GPS's and the steering wheel on this unit is cool and easy to use. Very responsive and cycles information pretty quickly. No constructive criticism...love it. Had it now for over a year. Well worth the money."

Exceeded expectations,July 19, 2009
By Boetiefrom Pupukea, Oahu - Hawaii
"I read some negative reviews about the wheel, but it works great. I usually have a hard time learning how to use new electronic gadgets, this one was super easy and it has execellent reception, including in areas where my GPS12 does not recieve a signal. Was a little dissapointed when my batteries went dead on a hunt, we were out for around 15 hours and the unit went dead, it was probably becuase I set the screen to a higher resolution for use in direct sunlight. I really like the unit, and will just take spare batteries next time, I have a number of GPS units for vehicles, boat, ATV etc, this is the easiest to use by far."

New user of the Garmin Colorado 400t,February 23, 2009
By trollin47from Apple Valley, Utah
"I spent a large amount of time researching GPS units. I looked at the DeLorme 40ND and Garmin 400 series models.
After comparing features/pricing, I selected the Garmin Colorado 400t. It's loaded with a tremendous amount of features. Being a new user of G.P.S. devices, its taken me a few days to get accustomed to ALL the features of this G.P.S. I've found my new Garmin 400t to be an exciting device.
In the initial setup, this device immediately responded to the satellite connection. I've not used it on a trip but, I'm looking forward to its use on water ways (lakes & streams).
The 400t's design is an excellent user friendly device. The only down fall I've come across is the lack of detailed instructions in the Garmin owners manual. For instance, to find ENTERING TEXT (page5), the instructions aren't detailed enough to guide you step by step into ENTERING TEXT. I've found two sources within the "OTHERS" shortcuts to enter text, one being GEOCACHES, the second within WAYPOINT. I'm still experimenting with my new unit. I've contacted Garmin support and they've provided me with locating their TEXT ENTERING.
I'd recommend this unit to others."

"After using two other GPS units there is absolutely no comparison. The "Colorado 400T is the easiest to use unit I have ever had. There are no side buttons to test your finger dexterity and the menu wheel is state-of-the-art. User friendly is an understatement. For those who have not used their GPS to full capacity because of complexity or technological intimidation this unit is self-educating. I tested it thoroughly while guiding in the mountains of Colorado and would definitely recommend it to anyone."

Good thing I get my gear from Cabela's...,October 7, 2008
By dodath07from Tiverton, RI
"The Garmin Colorado 400T GPS unit I purchased has a lot of great feature, easy to use, large clear viewing screen, accurate map. This unit dose have many issues though, it locks up often, on start up and when the soft keys are used, this results in having to take the batteries out and then re powering the unit,. The temperature mode stop working the first time I used it. Cabela's customer service staff was excellent in their support and allowed me a refund or trying another unit. I'm going to give it another try because the fetchers’ are so good and I'm hoping they won’t be a on going issue, and if they are I can count on Cabela's to stand by the products they sell as they always have done."

Excellent GPS,September 29, 2008
By honkermanfrom Oregon
"I have used this GPS for about a month now and I love it. The spin wheel makes it very easy and quick to use. I have used other Garmin products that were very bulky and generally not as user friendly. This was ready to go out of the box and very easy to use. Additionally it as very easy to connect and transfer data between a computer and the unit."

Awesome,September 23, 2008
By Brandon8from NW Wisconsin
"I really enjoy this GPS. I had a legend HCX and it got wet. THis is a major upgrade from the Legend. THe battery life is a little lower when using rechargables but it works well. The "walk the trail" feature works awesome when riding 4wheeler and when hunting."

I'm impressed,September 18, 2008
By alaskagunhunter1from Kenai, Alaska
"This is the forth GPS i have tried here in Alaska. The other three claimed to have all the maps I would need up here. One which cost over $500.00 was not supported in Alaska. The others had less than good software and limited maps.
The colorado 400t was a dream come true right out of the box. Base maps preloaded,Great controls, and accessories galore. In the field I was further surprised at how accurate and easy it is to use. 3D is amazing for plotting an overland course. All this and it stood up to Alaska's rainy fall weather while attached to my ATV. It has my recommendation. More so it impressed my wife who is a gadget guru and isn't easly impressed with my attempts at new toys. A++"

Garmin field trial,August 5, 2008
By HillbillyInTrainingfrom West Virginia/Florida/Ohio
"After breaking my Vista it was time for an upgrade. I have only had (1) trip into the field so far and used the unit to record a property boundary while posting. It was simple to use and has a much better antenna than the Vista. I didn't lose position while in the deepest/heaviest timbered of ravines. We'll see how easy it is to download the waypoiints..."

co400t,March 27, 2008
By GeneR2from Quincy, Washington
"I am hoping that I have a bad unit. There are so many faults with my CO 400T and I hate to admit I have one. Don't get me wrong. I have a high amoumt of faith in Garmin Products. I have a GPS V, two Vistas, two Vista C, a Vista Vista HCx, Map 60 CS and a Map6 60 CSx besides the Colorado 400T. There are some features that are very nice with the 400t and it is lacking a lot of features that the 60CSx and others have. The battery life last only a few hours on my 400t. 2-1/2 to 3 hrs. and that is without the use of any back lighting. It will shut down frequenty by selecting the shortcut button. On a recent hike, I had my 60 CSx and the 400t on at the same time and about 45 minutes, it turned off by its self. I have been in touch with Garmin Tech supoport, and I have uploadeed the the latest software."
