"As near as I can tell, this safe is the "Cabelas" version of the Liberty Safe I own.
If *think* this is basically a Franklin Safe in the Liberty parlance. IF I am correct, the steel is actually 11ga.
Note: The thickness of the sheet metal is called its gauge. The gauge of sheet metal ranges from 30 gauge to about 8 gauge. The higher the gauge, the thinner the metal is.
Anyway, let me say this about my safe, which is probably true of ANY safe made by Liberty:
a) I like my safe. It's so nice to hear AND feel the door opening and closing. It gives me a nice sense of security.
b) I had a problem with my safe when it first got to my house that had to do with an accessory. It really wasn't anything that the company did wrong, and I knew AND told them that when I talked to them. And yet, they took care of my problem anyway. AFTER I had already told them that I didn't expect them to. I have to say, a lot of companies talk the talk. In MY case, Liberty walked it.
I'm done shopping for safes. Not done BUYING, just done SHOPPING."
