Delta Ultimate Hot Hen Decoy,March 19, 2009

"I don't know how these got a 4.5 out of 5. I bought the hot hen decoy and the feeding hen. The feeding hen was great, but when I opened the Hot Hen, the paint on the head was all chipped off. I very very lightly took my fingernail and bubbed a very small part and the paint peeled right off. When the decoys are being boxed, they are foled into thirds and stuffed into the box. This folding and shippment is when the paint is being rubbed off. I think the paint quality is poor because it doesn't adhere to the rubber decoy. I am afraid that when I use them, the paint will rub off if they happen to rub together in my decoy bag.
However, Cabela's stood behind their name and sent me a replacement, but that one was worse than the original one I bought. Cabela's is sending me a refund. I notified Delta of the issue, so we'll see if they change their paint quality. Again, no hassles on the return with Cabela's. They were great."

"The Delta decoys are well done in detail and realism and are a big improvement over the foam ones previously used. Some other reviewers talked about the packing/folding creases that persist and that is true, but I think will work themselves out through use. Have used the blow dryer on them and that seemed to help. Because these were purchased in the dead of winter, I haven't had a chance to use them yet to see their total effectiveness, but I'm looking forward to the action they generate!"

"Only took fifteen minutes to have two big toms running into these decoys at full speed. Harvested a 11 inch, 22 lb. tom a little after six in the morning the very first time I used them. However, after using them with my buddy and loaning them to a friend for his season, the paint does not hold up on the decoys heads. It starts to peel off in sizeable pieces. It just does not stick to the body of the decoy very well. They look and work great when new, but lose paint after light use."

"These decoys look ok. They fold easily to fit in a backpack. The problem is, they are very skinny when you look at the decoy head on or from the rear. Cabelas sells other decoys that are much better. I returned them and replaced them with another brand."

"Look good right out of the box BUT paint did not last two outings in the first two weeks of the 2008 season. Paint peeled off the heads on all three decoys. I kept the decoys in my vest while walking to and from my hunting locations. When decoys were not being used, I kept them in my vest. I have a hard time believing that the paint would just peel by normal walking/moving through the woods and sitting against a tree but that is all I did. I know this seems unusual when the overall rating is 4.7, but that is what happened to me. Would not recommend until the paint problem is fixed."

"I've been using these turkey decoys for 4 years now and they have never let me down. Today, 4-5-08, I shot my 7th bird using these decoys and my first with a bow. When the toms and jakes see the hen decoys they are completely focused allowing for an excellent shot opportunity. No Paint issues with my decoys and they are constantly being folded, deployed, folded again and then I let them sit for 6 months at a time between hunts. I do, however, store the turkey decoys inflated. In short I recommend these decoys...they work!"

"Good product but the paint job needs to be a little more durable. After being strapped to a four wheeler and a couple of days in my vest the head paint is starting to come off. However, I had a hen run right up to them one day and six jakes run up to the hens and knock the jake decoy down the next day. I really like the way they take their shape to full size with a couple of puffs of air."
