The effectiveness of Knight & Hale game calls is legendary, and when it comes to turkey friction calls the Knight & Hale Hammer series is hard to beat for luring in big toms. Each of these calls works in any weather, and they are outfitted with integrated sounding boards for more realistic sound quality. The Slate Hammer uses a slate surface with raised spirals to produce rich, full tones. On the Silver Hammer, an aluminum surface teams with an included Power Tip Striker to create very loud calls, even in wet weather. Versatility is the name of the game with the Glass Hammer. Its glass surface can create ultrashrill sounds that will reach the ears of turkeys hundreds of yards away, but with the included Power Tip Striker you can tone it down to quiet turkey talk when you need to. Available: Slate Hammer, Silver Hammer, Glass Hammer.

Great Call,May 20, 2009
By huntguy04from Piqua, OH
"Slate call sounds great. Easily produces all the sounds you would expect. Like most slate calls though, if you get it wet it might as well be a coaster... Striker would make a good tent stake and thats about it."

Hammer series call,March 24, 2009
By Springturkeyfrom West Virginia
"The call is difficult to work. It will be smooth then hit a scratch that "sounds like a call." I have worked with it almost a month and I have not gotten any better. I think the top on the call wasn't placed even in depth. Sorry, it didn't help me with my turkey season."

Decent call, horrible stiker,February 11, 2009
By NickfromMOfrom Eureka, Mo
"The Slater Hammer is a pretty decent call, but the striker that it comes with is absolutely terrible. When I got it out of the box I first tried it with the included striker and it didn't sound good at all. I grabbed one of my primos stikers and tried it again and it sounded a heck of a lot better."

Turkey call,March 31, 2008
By russkierfrom Hercules, CA
"I am pleased and satisfied with the performance of my new Slate Hammer call. I am new to turkey calling and am by no means an expert. We have many wild turkeys around our neighborhood, which have moved in over the last 2 years. I hear them all the time. I became interested in learning to call them. After my purchase I practiced a few times then went to the area where turkeys are often seen. To my surprise the toms answered my calls immediately! Even the female answered. We went back later with my grandsons and they were getting responses too! We were driving them crazy. This thing works great!!!"

Great new calls!,February 27, 2008
By FatKidfrom Seattle, WA
"I ordered up all three of the new calls. I have not used them in the field yet, but trying them out has been interesting. i am by no means a master, but for an average user, this is my opinion of the group.
The silver unit is very crisp. Reacts well to your intense long distance calling. Close in is ok, but slate or glass calls seem to do better here. All around, this call is a winner.
The glass call seems to be the intermediate caller. I am not as impressed with it as the slate or silver units. Still, it does have some tones that are hard to replicate on the other units. Skip this one unless you like the glass calls in particular.
The slate call is great sounding. I can whip out nice purrs and fairly raspy yelps with this one. Seems to cover highs and lows well. I prefer this over all the rest for general sound quality. It rivals the original hammer call. Another winner.
