Effective,May 27, 2009
By Anonymousfrom central kentucky
"If you were hunting near me, I'd tell you it was the worst thing ever. But-honestly-it worked great. Longbeards were tuff here this year. Half way thru the season I shopped long & hard (stores & on line) for a good gobbler decoy and decided on this one. Was glad I did. Killed a jake the first time out with it (too late in the season to be picky over beard length.) Three jakes came right in--didn't hesitate to check out the hen & gobbler decoy. This decoy is very realistic. Wish I had it earlier in season when gobblers were hot but wouldn't come in. The silk tail fan looks real, but I had a little trouble with it unfolding correctly--took valuable time in the field to fix it. Will use a dried, real fan next year."

King Strut can't stand the wind.,April 25, 2009
By BR144from Sioux Falls, South Dakota
"My main disappointment is that in the wind, the decoy flips around and the tail quickly blows off. This spring while hunting out of a blind, after retrieving the fan and placing it back into the decoy, it blew off before I made it back to the blind. There should be a plastic pin or something that you can use to attach the tail fan when in use."

almost cheatin',April 20, 2009
By Berserkerfrom Harrah, Oklahoma
"It's almost cheatin'. Wasn't fair at all. The new Full Strut decoy that I bought just before Oklahoma's youth turkey season has brought down six toms all with 8" or better beards for me, my son-in-law, and teenage son. If they could see the decoy, all abandon caution, any weariness, and come to investigate. Most would display as if trying to one up the decoy. Some would run across the field and begin flogging the decoy. Jakes would keep their distance, just out of range, but that was better any way. I used the decoy to hide behind as I got caught on the trail by turkeys and ended up getting within 20 yards and killing two toms with one shot. Later I used the decoy to sneak up on a flock of hens and was close enough to confirm that none had beards. At one point I was standing up and walking towards them and they just kept feeding till I was within 10 yards. Some of the best money I ever spent. What a great year and the season isn't over yet. Oops, please note that all activities were on private lands with little likelyhood of others hunting inside our fences. I'd never use this decoy on public lands because I'd constantly have hunters sneaking up on my setup blowing my hunts."

best full strut available,March 7, 2009
By Bob125from Vermont
"I think this is the best full strut tom decoy available - for several reasons. It has as realistic a head as any decoy. The body looks realistic (better than most) and collapses quickly and easily for convent carrying. It sets up fast while holding its shape well. Of course right out of the box it will be a little misshapen. A short while before season I take it out, let its body expand fully, then it holds its shape better when I use it in the field. A hair dryer helps, if needed. It’s a fantastic decoy – looks good, easy to carry, easy to set up. I’ve had great success with it."

It's ok,October 27, 2008
By Matt12345from Reading, PA
"I'm a little disappointed with this decoy. The material it is made from caused it to be mis-shapped when removing it from the box and it won't stay fully unfolded. It's like a deflated football that keeps going back to the deformed shape. It looks real thoough."

turkey decoy,June 2, 2008
By turkeyslayersemnfrom SE Minnesota
"I have never used a tom decoy in turkey hunting. Opening morning of the 5th season this year in SE Minnesota had the decoy set up with a hen next to it. Within 1 hour of open shooting time, I had 4 toms and a jake starring at the decoy from 50 yards out. Within 45 seconds, they were within 5 yards of the decoy, and that was all that it took. This was an excellent decoy with the realism of the whole thing. The ability to add your own wings to and tail make it even more realistic."

Great decoy,June 2, 2008
By Specfrom Vacaville calif.
"I ordered this decoy just after the season closed but had to try it out anyway so i set up the blind and tried the decoy out if i had been shooting I could have killed 2 Toms the first 1 hour I had the decoy out. I am sure it will do wonders to my decoy group next season!"

Awesome,May 28, 2008
By MSwitchbackfrom Campbellsburg, In.
"Even though I have not had the chance to use the King Strut in the field, I am very pleased with the realism, and the quality of this decoy. It is the most realistic decoy I have ever seen. Plus, I can use a real fan, wings, and beard if I wanted to. But I don't think that is necessary. It will definetly be in my backpack next spring!"

flambeau king strut tom turkey decoy,May 7, 2008
By scotta9156from Ellsworth Wisconsin
"The decoy looks great but has a couple faults. The decoy has problems in the wind and the wind blows alot up here! The stake that goes in the ground does not go deep enough in the ground! It only goes in 4.25 inches and is only as thick as a nail. I had to make a home made stake with used aluminum arrows. The fan does blow off the decoy in wind so I smeared silicone in the fan holder and let it dry. It now has enough grip to hold the fan and the fan can be easily removed."

By Glorfrom Waupaca, WI
"I am very unhappy with this decoy! With a small amount of wind it jerks back and forth and makes a clicking noise when hitting the stake. I went hunting this morning and it scared away a huge tom and hen!"

"This is a great decoy had two brids run into it the first time I used it . It also packs down to size for storage and is light weight for carrying out into the field. The fan that it comes with could be alittle better but it works alright ."

Flambeau King Strut Tom Turkey Decoy,April 30, 2008
By Brillofrom Virginia
"Very good decoy. I just purchased this decoy about a week before our Virginia turkey season came in and it has already paid of as I harvested a real nice mature gobbler with this decoy.
The lifelike head along with the option of installing your own tail fan and wings (which I did) makes this decoy about as real as I've ever seen.
Once that old gobbler saw this decoy, he literally ran at least 80 yards across a field to get in his face and ,well that was the end of this story"

King Strut Turkey Decoy,April 29, 2008
By SAH1from Michigan
"The decoy worked great, assembled easy. Overall I really liked it and much more realistic than other strutting decoy's. Compact and easy to carry. I had some issues with some small rips in the material near the tail. When the decoy spun on the stake it made a grinding sound where the grommet met the stake point on top. I think some sanding with emery cloth should fix it."

king strut strikes,March 27, 2008
By turkey123
"Just returned from Florida, with my 1st osceola turkey! I owe it to the king strut decoy. 2 longbeards covered about 400 yards to whip up on the strutting stranger. After I shot the dominate bird, the other turkey took turn thrashing his buddy and the king strut decoy. My hunting partner has been using another companies strutting decoy, but he bought a king strut that very afternoon. the lightweight design and the realistic features make this decoy a must have for the serious turkey hunter."
