Sight Rite Laser Boresighter,
November 16, 2009
By beene642

"No good for 7mm mag! I Bought this laser Boresighter with the intensions of saving some ammo and time sighting in a new rifle. The O-ring design is not a bad idea, but the the O-rings aren't sized correctly for 7mm mag. The O-rings are shown to fit both 7mm and .270, giving too much play between the muzzle and boresighter. Also, the directions say to adjust the laser itself if it is off center... doesn't that defeat the whole purpose if you have to zero the laser before you zero your scope/rifle?!?!"

junk,

"I usually do not post reviews especially bad ones... but I had to rate this thing as absolute junk... it was so hard to get in the barrel that it destroys the O rings... I would be ok with that if they would atleast sent a half dozen or so replacement o rings.. I mean the product is junk and all they would have had to done to make it better was to spend another 30 cents or so in production and include more o rings!"

Cheap,

"Main shaft that inserts into gun is made of plastic and any mishandling upon insertion or extraction permanently bends the stem that connects to main unit making the unit inaccurate. O rings that come witht he unit are easily damaged beyond reuse."

Sight Rite Laser Boresighter,

"It is very easy to use. I used it to align my scope and a neighbor's scope on our .177 cal pellet rifles. After aligning our scopes, we did some wet firing. The shot groups were dead on, all within a 3 inch grouping."

Less than impressed,

By kpadawe

"I purchased this to boresight my new 17 HMR. it was a tight fit, no problem but it uses o-rings and one of them broke on removal. so the thing is useless to me. I looked for a o-ring kit on Cabelas but did not find one. I am not buying another fiasco that uses o-rings to get the fit.
Oh, the instructions were no help.
would not recommend."

Dont wast your money,
December 27, 2008
By afoolanndhismoneyparted

"After reading what little instructions that came with this bore sighter I sighted in my rifle with it. The when I got to the range I found that I wasted my time and money on this product. I had to go back to the old tryed and true method of taking the bolt out and sighting it by looking through the barel. The bore sighter didnt even get me close to being on the paper."

Site-Rite,

"As my family has grown, so has the expense every year involved with sighting in everyone's firearm, especially since the price of premium ammo stretching to around $50.00 a box. The product did everything it was advertised to do and I figure it paid for itself about three times over between myself, my wife, and four kids sighting in."

First shot MOA,

By 556SHOOTER
from Birmingham, Al

"I used this product to sight in my new SIG-556, on my HYSKORE gunsmith bench, at home, following the included instructions. My first shots at the range were MOA quality at 100yds. I did have to remove the FLASH SUPRESSOR in order to install the boresighter into the barrel. Results were worth the extra step."

bad out of the box,
April 14, 2008
By sandiegoshooter

"The first time I used the bore sighter in my .17 cal it broke. Thier are 2 washers on the shaft you put down the bore to take up the slack between the shaft and the bore. One washer broke the other came off the guide holding it in place. I did not try the other shaft that screws on lazer for other calibers yet. Cabelas is making good on it and sending me a new one as soon as I send back the old one. Hoping it was only a bad one in the batch.."

"The O-ring system for fitment to caliber is to inconsistent. I used this bore sighter on a new .223 and each time it was removed and re-installed the the laser was in a totally different area of the sight picture. Not even close. Will try it on my other rifles to see if it is just the o-rings too loose for the .223 but not happy so far."

Close but no cigar,
April 1, 2008
By MachineGuy

"I actualy purchased this item to line up bar feeds on our CNC lathes. Checked it by rolling the assembled unit in a precision v-block and made a mark on a wall at a distance of only three feet. The red dot ran out 1/2" at this short distance. I only need accuracy to 14 feet but, you can imagine how far off it would be at a 50-100 yards. The point isn't really round. More like a short line than a dot. Nice and bright though. In fairness you can adjust the beam with three set screws but the unit should be set better than what I got in three feet. I'd recommend it to a friend but, knowing I'd probably need to adjust it for them. Comes with a cloth bag to keep all the bits in. Qualty 4 stars Accuracy 1 Star"
