"This is a great kit that was easy to install and has been very durable. I would recommend it to anyone that gets annoyed by the factory stock of a Mini 14. This is by far the most versatile platform that I have seen and dealt with for the Mini 14."

Does Not Fit Rugers w/Composite Stocks,

"Contrary to the labelling on the package and the information displayed at this web site, this product cannot be installed as it is shipped on Ruger minis with composite stocks. If your rifle has a composite stock you also will have to purchase a "magazine reinforcement frame" either from Ruger or Tapco, directly and separately. Neither company offers these frames for sale on-line. You have to contact them directly. I have no idea how much they cost.
I will be returning this product.
I cannot speak to the product's suitability for use on wood stock minis."

"Easy install took 15 minutes - no mods needed on a 196 series mini-14. Looks good - feels great! And of course the extra rails are great for add-ons! Single-sheet "how-to" guide included and explains how to dismantle your factory mini-14 and install into this stock. Tools required: screwdriver!"

"I got this stock for Christmas. I put it together right away it took about 2 hours .I was taking my time the only thing is two screws that were on my oringinal stock had no place on this one they were retainers but the tapco stock had no metal retainers for the screws I like the way it looks and feels I haven't shot my mini 14 yet ,But I feel I will enjoy it alot .. A Great addition if this is what you want from your mini 14.."

"This easy to install and look great. Come with two choices of stock angles. The drawback is the cover plate on the bottom rail is hard to remove and replace. I do plan to by another one for my other mini."

"The Tapco stock took 10-15 minutes to install the instructions were easy, and it was a great fit. I would recommend that you buy the magazine well bracket if you have the original synthetic stock. Otherwise the magazines may not fit as snug. Other than that it was a great durable purchase. I love it!"

"This stock makes the mini-14 a more user friendly platform, thanks to the adjustable stock. It also adds looks and durabilty to an already durable weapon. The only reason i did not give 5 stars to my review is this isnt a drop in stock, i had to remove some excess plastic from areas to make this fit right, which wasnt hard at all with a little patience and dremel tool. Overall, i am very satisfied with the product and will be purchasing one for my mini-30. I also ordered a vertical front grip from TAPCO and this adds alot to the stock"

"This is a great stock. I had it in service in about 20 minutes. I am useing a vtac sling and 30 round mags. This stock makes the stadard mini 14 into a great tactical weapon. Very good construction and I think it will hold up just fine."

Great look after some work,

"This stock definitely makes the Ruger Mini-14 look better, fit better and more comfortable. It also adds some ruggedness to the rifle as well. My only 2 complaints are that I had to modify the back of the hand guard to fit with the integral scope mounts and that the screw holes didn’t perfectly line up. This isn't a drop-in fit, but no gunsmith is required, just some patience. You won’t be able to use your supplied scope rings with the hand guard as the picatinny rail up top will hit the scope, a scout scope, taller rings, or the weaver adapter with the right rings will have to be used. Over all it is well built and worth the effort, the angled stock adapter gives a better feel though the straight tube looks better."
