"Excellent magazine for an M59/66 rifle. fits perfectly and is butter smooth to engage and dissengage from the rifle. Best way to do this is turn the rifle charging handle down at the ground, rifle muzzle up and at a 45 degree angle, snap in and with the left hand that inserted the mag reach over and under and release the charging handle(bolt carrier) and return back to fire position. You can load a stripper clip as long as you have eight(8) or seven in the stripper. Advice for initial (new) mags load all 20 rounds in each and let them sit for a few days as is. The mag spring is very strong and it should take a little of the difficulty out of loading if you encounter this. Twenty(20) rounds will go in at first, but a little tough. This mag is overall superior to any metal mag out, and I applaud Tapco for their research and development of this product."

"This is a really reliable mag for you SKS. I use this mag with the Tapco stock and it works flawlessly. There was a short break in period where there would be some jams but once you put 50 rounds through it all of that went away. I have put 400 rounds through this mag and the only jamming was in the very beginning. I want another one!!!!"

"Unfortunately I purchased some other brand magazines for my Yugo's only to find out they simply do not work. Intitially I was afraid I was stuck with a faulty rifle until I did some research and discovered that just about everyone has had the same problem. Tapco's seem to be the only ones that work reliably for me in my Yugo. Wish they had a 30 rounder, but these 20 rounders are GREAT!"

Unpleasantly Surprised,

"Based on the number of great reviews, I expected that this magazine would be an easy drop-in fit. Unfortunately, nothing I did could make the magazine go all the way into my Russian SKS.
After doing some research following my purchase, I found out that all SKS's aren't created the same...especially the Russian ones. I ended up buying another American made (steel) magazine from Rifletech (at a lot higher cost). They wanted info concerning my gun's country of origin and stock manufacturer, so as to guarantee fit. That mag fits and functions perfectly.
The Tapco mag looks to be well made. It just didn't work for me, hence only one star, and I can't recommend it to others."

"I have been trying to get a decent clip for my SKS for a while. Two previous clips I bought at gun shows were junk and didn't work. This Tapco clip fit my Tapco stock perfectly. It is a real upgrade to my SKS. I liked it so much I've order another one."

"I've heard great things about these magazines, so I purchased one for myself. I have 2x 40 and 1x 30 round steel mags that I plan on selling so I can get at least 2 more of these 20 round Tapco mags. Everyone of my other mags would jam. So far I put 240 rounds through my rifle with one of these mags.... and not one jam. If you're looking at getting a great reliable magazine.... get this Tapco 20 rounder."

"Recently purchased a Tapco sks mag.I have purchased several steel mags for both of my sks's and not a single one would work(eirther jammed or mag would fallout).Bought one of these and love it.The spring in the mag needs to be broke in,but these are better than the steel mags and I plan on purchasing more!"

"If your specticale about this compasite stock accomadating your WOODEN SKS Stock have no worries It should fit with minor fileing around the magazine opening on the stock. i have a Yugo SKS w/wooden stock, worried it wouldnt fit, but got the magazine and it fits perfectly no fileing or nothing cycles and looks great as well."

"I was very doubtful of aftermarket mags. I have had alot of problems with them. I was pleasantly surprised when I attached this mag to the rifle. It holds firmly and feeds like a dream. I have a FiberForce stock on my SKS and this mag looks like it is meant to be there. Very pleased. I plan on buying a few more."
