"Good stuff. It spins when you want it to. That's all it's supposed to do. The only thing I don't like is that you must use a screwdriver to change the battery. That's a bit inconvenient, but not too much. Easy to program. Easy to attach to an On Time feeder (I don't know how it would be if you used another brand hopper).

"the first one broke after 1 year of use. I just bought this one because it was the only one that would bolt up to my set up. Bought another feeder and I would recommend going with a Moultree."

"Feeder is very simple to program. Motor is strong and relatively quiet. Although the housing is made of some type of composite material, the spline that attatches to the funnel is sturdier than that of the Elite model. I own several different brands of feeders and I would rather have two Tomahawks than one Elite. In fact I liked mine so much that I ordered a second and plan on ordering another. We have bear problems in Northern Florida. The smaller size barrel is perfect for keeping that extra distance out of reach of the bears, and also probably benefits by keeping fresher products in the barrel since it doesn't hold as much as well as not putting as much strain on the feeder poles. The only negative comment I have is that you have to completely remove a screw to access the battery compartment and if you were to drop it in the woods.........lots of luck!"

Out Of The Box Timer Issue,October 17, 2008

"I have just received my feeder, which came in on time and in tact. However, the digital timer has a problem. When setting the real time on the timer, the time moves up approx 2 minutes for every 30 seconds that passes by. Not only would this result in feeding off schedule, but a waste of food as well. I called the manufacture and they never questioned me on it at all. Seemed to be expecting this issue as soon as I started talking. I just faxed them my receipt and info and they promised to replace the timer unit right away. Will see how this one works. I did not read reviews on this before ordering it, but appears to be a common issue."

"I purchased 2 On Time Tomahawk Feeders in July. I replaced one of the motors right away out of the box because it didn't work. I am now having to replace the motor that was sent to replace the original. Also, the other unit was put in the woods last week and had worked fine for over a month at home but now that it's been in the woods one week it's not working either. I'm going to try 2 new motors that are being sent out because I was told there may have been a problem concerning a certain shippment. Cabala's has worked with me very well to solve my problems, but I will hold my final decision until the 2 motors coming now have been installed and show me they will hold up."

"All went well during the first two months after I purchased my first feeder. I purchased a second to put on the lease. After setting up the second feeder, I found out it had a bad motor. I took the motor back and it was replaced without question. I checked the motor they gave me before I left the store. Then, the first feeder I purchased, the motor went out in that one. Now I'm down to one feeder again, and I've got to purchase another motor assembly to have an extra on hand. Don't waste your money on these feeders. Both of the feeders have the Tomahawk motor on them. Junk...just junk."
